The problem is that iGP Manager is one of few games that really handle everything important on the server. Some of those players and hosts are not out to bully but genuinely believe there's cheating as it's rampant in some other games, that are rely on their clients to handle some of the calculations to ease load.
So it's a tough learning experience for everyone. For the ones handing out punishment, as too lenient makes the ones wronged feel bad but too harsh makes the ones wrongly believing they are in the right just leave and accuse the iGP staff (I'm just ordinary mod and thus not deciding on that) to help cheaters, building a reputation for the game making other new players even more readily come to the conclusion to be cheated by the players that are just better at it. iGP Manager appearing rather simple on the surface doesn't help as it also masks a bit the depths making it possible to make a difference as a manager. But also for the community to learn and build a reputation of trust in the game in order to foremost look for the fault in the own knowledge if someone appearingly easily defeats everyone in a league.
Totally get that Frank.
Been gaming professionally for over 10 years and iGP truly without a doubt is one of a kind.
I understand wanting to find a balance so as not to alienate players but still that can’t excuse repeated crazy behavior. I use crazy for a lack of better word. I mean if one manager consistently calls everyone that beats him a cheater for over three years ?♂️.
This post is referring to managers with such repeated behaviours.
Even something as small as a pinned post from iGP in the forum with stuff like “Please do not bully others or call them a cheat without providing evidence to back your claim. We take such matters seriously. Kindly contact your host, mod or support staff privately before making allegations” will go a long way.
Or a protocol for handling bullying, I mean a sort of scenario whereas every complaint gets a similar treatment. Because now, the action taken is all over the board, sometimes in private message, sometimes a mod on league board, I’ve seen jose post on league board, …
Its all good intentions, I’m not doubting that for a second, but shouldnt it be more consistent? In my opinion, the studio should invest in tackling bullying in a consistent, grown up manner.
And I repeat myself: same with offensive names (manager and teamnames). And although offensive is not the same for all, there surely are names we all find offensive
