So my suggestion is for any API interface which can be used for any league hosts or players who might want something more advanced like this.
For league hosts it could provide access to the following data in order to present the in an external site/portal which can advertise the league:
- championship results
- past races result if possible
- live race data on lap time/positions/pits etc.
For players:
- Data for their drivers / stuff (health / training / contract / remaining races etc.)
- Status of their HQ and what are their level
- Car data
- And the most important which I believe it can make huge difference in some heavy players... Live data of the running race, which can be used from the player in an F1 style. This could be used in feeding custom external tools to decide strategy on the fly etc. , and even create a whole new market based on the game.
Of course because I know that the above idea is a whole project on its own and can increase a lot the development and platform cost, as compensation it could be chargeable on various subscription forms (based on amount of API calls, on available data, or both options together.)
I think that such a feature could skyrocket the game by attracting players with more "professional" type of leagues...
On the other hand, it could be just non feasible and I am just writing non-sense stuff, but it is an idea that I was thinking during the last few races. :P :D
