I think reducing the fuel increments to .5L will add a more strategic element to the game - having to watch PL more throughout the race etc to manage fuel

Eh, no. All it means it just making managers to add 0,5 more litres of fuel every single stint. This will also make the cars go a bit slower, too

Or, how about half a litre less, making the cars faster?

This is the whole point of my suggestion - some will add more fuel while others will add less and therefore cutting it fine with fuel in each stint to try gain an advantage. It would just bring another element of strategy to the game

It could help in situations where you expect to use more fuel and instead of adding a whole 1 additional litre (and end up carrying i.e. 0,7l extra around for safety reasons) you could add 0,5litres (and carry around only 0,2l extra, thus making you faster)

This one sounds better

I think they should go even further and reduce it to 100ml increments, if they measure lap usage in mililtres (2.32, 1.76 etc) you should be able to add fuel in 0.1ltr increments to. Sometimes its impossible to find the optimum lap to pit due to tyre wear, you want to do an extra lap so your not carrying excessive fuel, but that lap takes you past the optimum tyre usage, it's just a balancing act.

Interesting suggestion but if we reduce it how many extra taps/clicks we would have?

You have 2 selection bars, 1 for litres as we currently do, then 1 under for a tenth of a litre, example you want to add 20.4 litres set the current bar to 20 litres then the new bar set to .4 hey presto. If the bar automatically starts at 0.5 then it's only a maximum of 4 presses to cover the whole range 0.1-0.9

What about phones with small screen?

142x50

That’s a good argument. Hmm… Won’t something like this fit on small screens as well? (doubling the + and - buttons)

Without too many explanations. Maybe just a larger/smaller font.

It's something I always wanted on the game... but, tbh, it would make Fuel Economy mostly useless on preventing that unwanted extra litter because you could just add +0.1L instead of hang on with 0.95L remaining at the end of the stint as a "punishment" for not optimizing fuel loads.
Also, if you add those decimal increments, it would make end of stints equal for everyone instead of rewarding those who planned to have the least fuel at the end of their stints (0.0-0.2L) 🤷‍♂️
I still like the idea, but FE would need some rework, either making fuel savings important at higher Push Levels or PL1 saving more at higher FEs, for example 👍

i agree with that. Currently I don't think the difference in push level - fuel is not that huge, for example for every 1 level increase in driving modes, fuel use tend to only increase by 0,1 per lap. (in some tracks where lap use is >3l, it is 0,2)

You don’t necessarily have to add/adjust any extra buttons or clicks if it made it easier for devs? If you changed it to 0.5L for example then i would leave the buttons exactly as they are (meaning you’d press + twice for 1L for example)

And by making it 0.5L instead of 0.1L as suggested it still keeps Fuel economy as being important rather than being completely useless then

Just open the field so that the manager can enter the amount he wants.
