I don't really agree on your last suggestion... by doing that the skill that it takes to make a good car all season round would be decreased. I think right now a new player should learn which stats are good and which aren't by experience.
I don’t agree with any of the suggestions and don’t get what it would achieve?
Car design is an important part of the game and while starting design is down to CD it’s how the manager progresses it during the season that counts. The first idea would take this away and if every one had similar cars it would make the game less enjoyable.
Keep the ideas coming though ??
I am not aiming to get everyone the same car at the beginning of every season. The points are still dependent on the CD but the focused attribute could get an extra boost (like +0,5 per race). For example, a 4 star CD can generate 2 DPs every race and 2,5 in that focused department (even increased more if it is the CD's strength or not increase if it is the CD's weakness). That way, the total starting DPs will stay pretty the same, just change the car dynamic towards different attributes.
If this idea is still undoable, then let the manager itself decide which attribute(s) that the CD should focus on the next season (for some cash, but there is a limit like 2m or somewhat). This will make the next season's car still different and not the same while preventing players with strong finances to get an unfair boost in the game.
It wouldn’t though. CD sets design for season start and then it is manager choice where they design based on their current design strengths and weaknesses and where everyone else is progressing. If everyone say focuses on Acceleration then you end up with everyone having strong acceleration and everything else pretty weak relative to their CD strengths.
The cars may not end up identical, but very similar except those generating more HQ design pts will reach max level quicker for the chosen attribute, but eventually everyone will.
Unless you mean give hosts/players the ability to set CD strengths and weaknesses each season? However, this would not be a good idea as it would reduce need to either buy a CD in auction, via HQ or use tokens to manually change. This would remove a significant amount of income to the game.
One of my accounts competes in an offline league where you are forbidden to allocate DP to an attribute by more than 30 of the max value of the previous race. It involves more work for the host, but achieves some of the things your idea is trying to do.
