So recently I was very surprised to hear that a host of another league I had no relation to had been dismissed by a game moderator for as it had been called “kicking a player without prior justification”. It was also advised that they should have contacted moderators before kicking players out of their very own league, which doesn't quite make sence to me.

For the reason that I haven't deeply investigated what has really happened between that one kicked player and a host I cannot and have no intention to judge whether he really has done what he’s made guilty of or not, but I have good reason to believe that it is the sole authority of the league host to decide who gets kicked or penalised or whatever. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s the very right of the league host to set and enforce his own rules by which he is free to make such decisions with or without any spoken justification.

It’s also up to the players of that league to decide whether they agree with the rules or not, which makes them stay in the league or leave it to find another one.

And it was also the fact that frustrated me a lot that the league host was dismissed by a moderator (something I haven’t ever heard of before and didn't think it was possible) as the result of an ‘internal investigation’ he had not been made aware of before his host status was actually revoked. Which probably meant that he was not given the right to defend himself and provide any counter evidence before the end of the investigation.

So this whole situation makes me wonder if there are any ‘rules of ruling’ and if there is a clear list of cases in which a host can be dismissed by a moderator, because unfortunately I’m not aware of any of it and that makes me think that it’s totally up to the moderators and their personal perception of the circumstances, which in my opinion creates a space for a freewheeling approach to determining guilt of a host and shows that there is no framework for clear and open investigation process which includes the right to provide counter evidence and defend yourself by any other mean. Which I personally would prefer to have if I were in such situation.

Connor Cooper writes that he has done a thorough investigation. How does he understand such a thorough investigation? He writes to me in a personal message: yes, you have presented evidence (a screenshot is an analogue of the word stupid and the testimony of a league player), but we have a complaint, a false denunciation and, on this basis, unsubstantiated suspicions. And we discussed these unsubstantiated suspicions from all sides. And who are the judges? Why was I convicted? Based on what rule? Based on what law? Based on a false denunciation without any evidence, I was convicted by Connor Cooper.

The word "stupid" is offensive to us. The Russian language is rich in such words. And if you name all the participants in the league, then this does not go into any framework.
The league needs to be returned to you.

I'm not going to defend any of the involved characters in this, but I do want to say that a league's host does not have full authority as it may seem.

716x250

Mainly this was implemented due to abusive hosts that used to manufacture championship results by kicking other competitors.
However, the benefits of the limited authority of hosts are not only this. Personally, I believe that in a game where a full season takes so long (close to a month) it can get frustrating to be at the will of only one man.

Roman Riz was unhappy with his progress in the game.  He does not stay in any league, he spent less than 3 weeks with us.  He began to blame the head of the host for this, and insulted the rest of the host.  Including me, I am a member of this league.  In any normal community, they get banned for this.

Hi Michael,

A league host surely has the right to set or enforce the rules agreed to by the managers but he or she can't kick a player without just cause.

When a mod gets involved, an internal investigation is conducted where everything that transpired is looked at from both sides (best believe iGP has records of everything) by the mod 'team' (not just a single person) before a decision is made.

I hope that helps in any way.

Hi Archie,

Yes, I get the point why such limitations exist, and as Mihai mentioned above it was implemented due to abusive hosts kicking players for their own benefit. That’s clear to me, but what seems to be not so clear is where the rules and definitions for such ‘justification’ that needs to be made prior to kicking a player are.

And the whole investigation procedure seems to be a bit non-transparent, as in the described case the host was not aware that the investigation against him being was being conducted all along until he saw the actual decision.

So the way I see it the current practice is aimed at protecting regular league members, but on the other hand it makes me think that even fair hosts can fall victim to deliberate slander of resentful detractors.

And just for you to not get me wrong, I’m not the one who likes to kick people for no reason, but I just saw a case that made me believe that the current host dismissal procedure was imperfect and non-transparent.

My language of communication is Ukrainian and Russian. In English with the help of a translator. Paying attention! For a user who is an ill-wisher of the host of the league, options open up, for example: you join the league, you have a conflict, you “bite” the host, and one (two, three) race before the finish line, you leave and write in support and on the forum that you were deleted by the insidious host.

Well, for example, I don’t know how to model and predict the behavior of a league player if the moderators are guided by their impression, do not care about evidence, are guided by suspicion from a false denunciation in making a decision.

Hello, I would like to express the opinion of the majority of the players in our league. As the league's new host, I decided to take a poll to see if league members support Roman Riz's complaint. Based on the results of personal conversations and open voting (which u can find at our league wall), I can conclude that the players unanimously support the decision of the former league host Dmitry. In addition, many players are outraged that they were not asked for their opinion as full members of the league regarding this incident. Regarding the decision to remove Roman - he really behaved defiantly and personally insulted me, calling me "stupid" when I tried to help him with the game. Dmitry's fault is only that he did not inform the game moderators about this decision, but we can all be mistaken. Dmitry flawlessly developed the league for a year - many participants in the "elite" category moved there from beginners. As an old-timer of the league, I just wanted to convey to everyone that Dmitry has done a very large amount of work to make the league better. Thank you for your understanding and good luck everyone)

Good day to all!!! My native language -
Russian, the correct translation depends only on google translator !!!
"Regarding the situation between the league host Dmitry Pirogovsky and the manager Roman Riz and the decision of the game moderators."
About Roman Riz - this manager behaved at least not politely towards the managers of the league, but in fact insulted everyone in this league !!! the word "Stupid" (Fool, Stupid, Dumb, Retard or an idiot - approximately this meaning.) is an unconditional insult for a Russian-speaking person. It happens in a friendly form, but this is only between friends (I think it's the same with you) !!! But this manager cannot be called a friend !!! Because no one knows him and he spent no more than 3 weeks in the league, and maybe less than this time !!!
If you go to the IGP F1 RACING league in the information point, there is a vote on the current situation!!! at the moment 18:0 in favor of Dmitry Pirogovsky's decision.
In my personal opinion, host Dmitry Pirogovsky did the right thing by getting the league out of contact with Roman Riz.
Regarding the decision of the moderators of the game:
1) one gets the impression that the investigation was carried out without careful translation from Russian into English.
 2) In our league, we did not see evidence of Dmitry Pirogovsky's guilt !!! Where is the proof ?
3) The decision of the moderators = permission to insult all managers !!! All leagues!!! and is not interpreted otherwise!
There is no other explanation for me!!!
manager - you are all "Stupid" (Fool, Stupid, Dumb, Retard or idiot)
host - goodbye Roman Riz !!!
moderator - goodbye Dmitry Pirogovsky !!!
It's strange!
I really hope it's just because of the difference in translation!!!
I consider it important to characterize the league host Dmitry Pirogovsky - this person is a good leader of the league, his communication is always respectful towards the league members, the league rules are communicated in a timely manner and even additional statistics are kept on races and league members (it is clear that the person takes the most responsible attitude to his business ). In case of uncertain actions of the league participants, he offers help, gives tips on the right actions to improve the result of a manager who has not figured everything out yet !!!

The moderator can also make a mistake. He may make a mistake unintentionally, or he may deliberately. Michael, this is not the first time you have confirmed this in a topic on the forum. Now look from this angle and think (it’s clear that no one will believe, but still) you are not interviewed based on the results of the investigation, instead Connor Cooper sends you a letter with information that I was found guilty and sentenced to removal from office, and you are offered to go up, take my place. What are the signs of a corrupt judge? Without interrogating the witness for the defense to raise him, to appoint the accused in his place, in order to create a temptation, there may be some kind of internal conflict. I am grateful to Michael, he confirmed his testimony.

I, as a convicted person and publicly announced this, I have a serious attitude: a false denunciation, an authoritative but incompetent investigator who puts a witness for the defense in my place. This is the IGP Shawshank Redemption for me. Restore a good name.

It's a game, your still in the league, who cares who hosts it.
If you had followed the rules then they wouldn't of removed you, so you only have yourself to blame. Rules are there for a reason, follow them or face the consequences, constant whining about the mods that have basically followed the rules, that you "can't kick players without a good reason", if you didn't like what a particular player had said or done then point it out to the mods, they will determine if it's a kickable offence or not. You just happen to manage a league, but that league belongs to IGp, what they do is basically down to them, they set the rules for everyone. As far as I'm concerned the mods and Jack do a good job and sort any issues swiftly.
Seems your whining more than the person in your league that you kicked, your even calling Connor incompetent, yet you kicked a player because they called you stupid lol.

"who cares who hosts it" probably someone who has put a lot of time and effort into developing the league to its current state?

And still the question is what the ‘rules for hosts’ you are referring to are and where it is actually written. I only saw a 3 years old screenshot of Yunus saying that you can only kick a player if he has been inactive for the last 48 hours, but what does it have to do with those who offend other players?

It seems like every time a person like this appears in a league hosts needs to wait 48 hours for such a player to be offline or ask the mods for permission like if they are not actually HOSTING the league but only doing a low-profile job of doing everything for the league while not having any real power. And that's on top of the fact that I'm almost absolutely sure that 90% of hosts have never heard of this procedure.

“league belongs to IGp” you say, then what's the point of investing time and effort into developing a league if it can be seized at any moment of time, because there are rules that only exist in archived forum posts and investigations carried out in secret?

Speaking for myself I do not blame mods for doing a bad job or being incompetent, I only think that the league hosts are quite vulnerable with current ‘rules’ and procedures, so that's why it needs to be changed and at least made more trasnparent.

Because I don’t want to wake up one day only to find out that the league I have invested so much into is taken from me because I have violated the rules I’m not even aware of.

Even if a manager was was saying stuff you didn’t like, you can’t remove them. Only times you can is permission from iGP mods, breaking a rule that is in the league for races (like 2 tyres), and inactivity. So, yes what Connor did was right, the removal of host from you was justified for you removing a manager for what he said.

Hello managers,

I think this wen too far so my comment will be the last comment in this topic. We can all learn from this case, which is great.

  1. Hosts aren't the owners of the leagues, you can read our ToS and learn about it. Being host doesn't allow you to kick managers for whatever reason. You can kick managers for the following reasons (example): ignoring pre-established league rules, being inactive, spam... But in terms of security and moderation such as insults, bad behaviour, etc it's up to the moderation department to intervene, you can report on the forum or via ticket and mods will assist you as soon as possible.

  2. Investigations are always internal, transparency isn't allowed due to GDPR, that's why mods always deal those cases privately and not here in the forum publicly.

  3. Suspensions are privately too, mods aren't allowed to disclose the time of the suspension externally.

  4. We don't have any Russian moderator, which made all of this way more difficult for us.

  5. We tried to reach the former league host twice to know his version 22 days ago and 2 days ago. After 20 days without answer according to our internal protocols we close the investigations and mark the case in favour of the accusation (since the accused never replied).
