Level 8 Facilities

Hi

Need some guidance/assistance, I have just reached Level 8 and looking at getting the Test rig or Wind tunnel

Can someone explain the difference between the 2, and also what the best option would be.

wind tunnel? fairly self explanatory and probably the better choice, however the way i design, probably won't make a difference, I only design a few parts at a time with all designers allocated to those parts for faster completion.

Test rig? (not entire sure on this one, someone please explain what this does and the effects it has)

Do test rig.. It helps out your car faster Do that first. Wind tunnel "accelerates the aerodynamics". Do the test rig because it helps to go faster. Hoped this helped. And don't forget it's your decision.

If you look under both they say what they do.

Test Rig help accelerate the design on the following parts : Chassis, Suspension and Internals
Wind Tunnel help accelerate the design on the following parts : Sidepods, Front and Rear Winds and Underbody

So Harley with the way you are currently designing it would help getting more designers and doing 40 - 40 - 40 on three different parts to have them completed by the next day.

I think he just wants to know what one to buy first. Aerodynamics I would pick first, The wind tunnel.

As for the number of designers doing just Chassis, Suspension and Internals one day & doing Sidepods, Front and Rear Winds and Underbody the next day doesn't take 120 people.
There I no percentage increase with the more people you have doing the job. So you would get away with 48 Designers, Engineers 68, Mechanics 48 the rest of the people you can put in Marketing 36 to make you money :)

James, He is running a one car league so those numbers are not correct. Maybe 34 and 24 for engineers, mechanics. all the rest on design. Commercial does not make enough money to devote any resources to it. It takes way more manpower for design in a one car league than a two car league.

I see :) Commercial revenue covers my staff wages, sponsors pay drivers, travel & car maintenance & suppliers

Even if you have a part at 98% design already in the everyday 2car league it only takes 11 people working on that part to get it ready the next day I thought 12 people working on it was being generous :D

I keep forgetting every league is different
