Hello,
The lock appears on any driver outside of the transfers which hasn't previously been a member of your team. The developers implemented this in order to stop some managers using codes in order to take all of the best drivers and CDs as soon as they were sold.
To transfer staff to your friends, you now have to sell them at auction for your friend to buy. In your situation, you'll have to re-buy your driver in order to put them into auction.
NOTE: It is important that you and your friend agree a time to complete the transfer as each auction only lasts 4 minutes.
