Hi there. For two races in our league we've seen a team that is not in the top 10, dump all their KERS to get fastest lap. This is making the fastest lap rule pointless to be included.

Can we please get a rule implemented that caps the maximum usage of KERS Per lap to 5% and 10%. This would greatly mitigate a 'backmarker' team from dumping 100% KERS in a single lap to take points away from the top 10.

Thanks

Or just turn fastest lap point off ?‍♂️

I feel a KERS % limit per lap would improve racing generally and not just solve the KERS dumping problem.

But that would defeat the purpose of, not only this post and the fastest lap of the race point itself. If you got a team that lets say consistently performs overall bad all season, only use KERS to simply deny other teams getting that point. Can you honestly say this is in the spirit of the rule or in good taste?

He used 100% of his kers in p21 with only one driver... There is no reason to act in this way 2 races out of 2. He wasn't p12 or within 5 seconds from p10. I mean he had no chance to be in p10 and by reading what happens in your league, there are many second accounts. Are you sure this isn't a second account? If so you can ban him.

The problem is not in how much kers you can use per lap. You should not do any poll on this topic and you can't verify if someone breaks your rule.

If a manager who isn't going to finish in the top 10 chooses to deny others from getting the FL point your proposal of limiting Boost usage to ?% per lap won't stop them. If this is the only reason for the developers to code such a rule it would be a waste of their time.

Imagine the limit was set to 10%. All a backmarker has to do is pit the car a couple of laps from the end of the race, fit SS tyres and unload the full limited boost on the last lap when tyres are fresh and the cars are lightest.

Nobody in the top 10 could counter this tactic because if they also pitted they would lose many places (and points) in an effort to secure 1 point for FL.

Edit:
If you try to police this as a local rule (I was reading your league wall) I think you're going to have a real problem with a rule that states It is forbidden to use excessive KERS in a single lap.

Two things immediately spring to mind:

  1. Who defines excessive?

  2. How do you measure it?

You'll be on a slippery slope if you start kicking people for non-compliance with a rule that can't be measured.

And just why you see this as a "problem" ?

Its a Manager game, you have to think on 1000000 different things to achieve your goal.

To be perfectly honest this reads as "I'm important as I'm in the top 10."

Why don't you work on getting good enough to win the race and get the fastest lap point instead of moaning about people lower down making their own race more fun? That's the rules, if you can't get the fastest lap with equal rules you don't deserve the point for fastest lap.

Seems like a really poor suggestion to me.

Hello David,

I think the main problem is that there're a few managers using more than one team in your Elite tier. Have a look at it! :)
