Replay mode

If its possible, could you make a replay mode so that if you werent actively watching a league race, you can see what had happened during that race, and if possible, a highlites feature posted alongside this. Thanks

Unfortunately, I believe that the developers do not have enough server space to keep the full race data required to run highlights packages for every single race.  I also believe that the amount of space required to do this would be prohibitive (far too high) in cost for a game that tries to run as a "no pay to win" style of game.

Ergo, I believe this to be a non runner, even though it would be a good thing...

I guess saving the replays is not feasible but there is an alternative I can think of.

The server is already sending you all the data needed during the race, so an option to store the data as you play wouldn't be out of question. Then all the resources needed for the replay would be on the client side, the problem is how you reconstruct the race from the downloaded data.

This might be harder then it looks. I’m not an expert in these things but the game as it is, doesn’t record simulation data, it does record lap times and positions and stuff but not the movement of the cars.

So that would need to be built plus all extra server space it would need to implement and store races.

I think this is everyone's dream!

It happens with everyone that he can't be there for a race or just wants to see a friend, but the time is inappropriate, maybe want to see a summary of for example the World Cup!

I fully understand that developers need to save on the database, so e.g. it could be available for say 1 day and I think this is a compromise solution that will greatly enhance the gaming experience!

I can suggest an alternative to live replays: a simple positions chart of everyone in the race, and their standing on each lap. There is only one per tier, three per league, so server space is no worry, and various filters and labels could mean you can understand what the graph is showing you. As there isn't any wheel-to wheel racing YET (I think, I have to play 2D version, correct me if I'm wrong), there is nothing you really need to look at in terms of on-track action, so a graph does just as good a job.
