Jack is it possible to do monthly updates if only working on one thing at a time instead of dozens of things at once?
We tried this in the beginning and it just wasn't sustainable. With such a small team even the slightest hiccup (e.g. a developer being unwell, life events) can completely throw such plans off course.
It also leads to crappier updates because you end up making quick updates just because you have to. The updates end up being whatever you can cram in to the allotted time (so it ends up lacking substance) and to boot nothing has enough time to be thoroughly tested, which results in more bugs and rushed features. At least, when we tried that with a 2-3 man team it was just too much to ask.
In other words, there's the ideal world, and then there's the real world. It's much better to do what is needed and take as long as it takes. Even if it does require patience from everyone, it results in much better, more meaningful updates.
