My drivers have practised for Malaysia on both rain tyres and dry tyres, with (obviously) different settings, so which settings are used for qualifying and the race?

Hello,
The setup used for both qualifying and the race will be the final setup that you save in the setup tab.
If you do a lap with a wet setup and save it, and then save a dry setup, you will use the dry setup for both qualifying and the race as it was the last one you saved.

Receiving the Ideal Setup from Daily Rewards is an exception to this as it will automatically optimise your setup for the conditions at the time, meaning it can change to accomodate rain without you saving a rain setup.

Thanks Connor.

I think that explains why my race in Malaysia fell apart today. I had practised in the dry, but saw this morning that it was raining, so I did one lap on wets to get some data. Then the rain stopped and although I was in time to change the tyres and fuel, I couldn't do anything to change the settings.

To be honest, it's frustrating, as once the fifth practice is used, there's no way to change the settings, even though race conditions can change right up to qualifying.

Anyway, thanks for your clarification.

You can change your setup at any time before the qualifying lockdown by using the +/- arrows to change your setup and pressing save when you get to your desired setup. You don't have to complete a practice lap on a setup for it to save.

Ah, thanks, that's perfect. I was under the impression that it was the last practice session that locked the settings.
