Introducing iGP Gold!

This is a purchase from maybe $10-25 dollars or that gets you the following:

-Unlimited driver and staff customization
-Unlimited livery changes and new livery styles
-Driver numbers (yet to be added)
-Driver helmets (yet to be added)
-Profile flair (like a fun banner or something aesthetically to make you stand out)
-X amount of money/tokens

This would be iGP Games' scummiest move - if that happens I bet the game will lose players if every luxury feature is locked behind a paywall

I hate to sound rude but look at EA Sports games for my reasoning

Personally, I think Harry's suggestion is a good one but needs to be time limited (a subscription) and not a one-off payment that lasts forever.

With the exception of tokens (which you can already purchase for real money), all of the benefits Harry lists are merely cosmetic so they won't make a team any faster, but it would add to the enjoyment of the game for many.

Why would people leave? What's wrong with allowing Managers to spend real money on premium liveries, customisable race suits and helmets and individual user selectable race numbers?

The money raised might allow IGP Manager to dedicate resources into resolving some of the long-standing bugs.

Regarding comparisons with EA Sports, are you talking about that huge and successful video game studio?

Might as well explain my points.

Yes, I am talking about the big studio "EA Sports" but what I will explain deeper is my reasoning for why managers might leave.

Most people (including myself) don't like to spend real world money on in-app purchases. I know it supports the developer but it's more or less a cash grab - no offense to the people at iGP Games.

I like this on the surface but the price is what makes me turn away - 10 to 25 dollars is too much for mostly cosmetics even if it does support the game.

10-25 dollars was just a placeholder. It could be less, like 5 dollars, or even a subscription like Kevin mentioned, with a 2 dollars a month thing.

Those are much more reasonable prices

I like this idea, it has to be purely cosmetic so no gaining advantages all over the place. That's where the money is in customisation. The only downside I see it once you have customised whatever it is you want, you won't do it again for a while so a sub wouldn't be worth it and it's better to just use tokens. But the concept is good

You all seem to be missing one small, but important thing whilst assuming that the full list is cosmetic changes.  You all seem to forget that a Chief Designer's strengths and weaknesses can be changed as well as their names and avatars.  In my opinion, in this concept, a CD's strengths and weanesses should be separately cargable due to those attributes affecting game play...

Hi Timothy, Harry states "Unlimited Driver and Staff Customisation".

He never said managers who do not pay a subscription will not be able to continue to change a CD strength for 50 tokens, just that by paying a subscription you can do it as often as you like. That's the way I read it anyway.

But of course, you have a very good point. If, by paying a subscription you get unlimited editing there would be no need for a manager to employ multiple CDs with different strengths, you would just edit their strength every day if necessary to whatever attribute you are researching.

I believe he wanted to say unlimited cosmetics.

Yes. iGP Gold was meant as a way to say, for either a one time purchase or a monthly subscription, unlimited livery changes, and free customization. By this, I mean name, nationality, and other features such as hair, skin color, glasses, etc.

Being able to change a CD's strength and weakness would be overpowered.

I agree, it should be just cosmetics.

If paying allowed you to change the stats of drivers and staff, then that would be iGP Games' worst move, because people who bought that would have an overpowered team. Exclusively paying for cosmetics is a better move on iGP Games' part.
