In leagues where you don't refuel it would be an advantage to see if the fuel will last until the end or not. So you know if you can push or you have to slow down.

So that the display shows not the current consumption but

for example. + 0.6 (This means that after 60/60 laps you still have 0.6 laps of fuel left).

Or - 1.5 (That would mean that you run out of fuel 1 1/5 laps before the end)

This would be a very helpful display that exists in a similar way in real life.

I love this. Would make it so much easier. Motorsport Manager does this, and it makes it easier to push and conserve.

And that is why it is a bad idea.

This isn’t real life it is a strategy game for entertainment yet you want to remove a key component of the game for no refuelling leagues.  It is just dumbing it down and only benefits those who don’t know how to manage their fuel properly.  You already have the information from practice and if you are smart from past races in the same weather conditions with similar FE plus you see your fuel usage in real time enabling you to know whether you on course or need to conserve fuel.  If you need an indicator telling whether you will run out of fuel at certain push levels you then maybe thus game isn’t for you?

As a footnote F1 was so much much better when drivers received no in race analytics and had to manage the fuel themselves. It was a much better spectacle especially when a front runner would get it wrong and run out of fuel 300m from the finishing line ?. Much better than today’s robotic drive by numbers procession.

I just run a spreadsheet which shows how much fuel I should have at the end of each lap.

Works for me.

You already have the information from practice

Yes that's right. The problem is that this is not really accurate. In training it shows 2.34. But in the race you do not know whether you need 2.30 or 2.39 liters per lap and that is a huge difference. In addition, you can not really test in training how the different push lvl affect the fuel consumption.

In addition, the type of push lvl and the tire choice changes depending on the season and the current temperature so that a list is not really helpful.

The goal is not to make it easier but at least the display should have the same decimal places as the display in training when you set the setup.

Or you should have more possibility to test the push lvl and its tires and fuel consumption. It's just annoying when you have a lower tire temperature at the same temperatures and tire wear as the race before and therefore have to push more. But you can't do that because you don't know if you'll make it to the finish. Since the display only shows a number after the decimal point.

All of what you describe can be achieved by keeping good records.  This is a management game so removing elements you need to do yourself by having it spoon-fed to you would be a backward step.  Otherwise what is the point of playing?

I think showing the true fuel consumption would be better, instead of having rounded values.
It won't help a lot for converting practice lap to race lap but it will help for quick fuel calculations mid race.

I agree. I think going back to the hundredths place would be great.

I agree with you, management games shouldn't have half their things to manage done by AI within the games - they should be done by the player
