Hello! I would love to know what rank I am (both world and USA), but since I'm not in the top 100, it doesn't tell me. Can this be added? (or is there a way to know your specific number already and I'm just blind)

Also this might be more of a Help & Support thread. Sorry for putting it under Suggestions.

Once you enter the top 1000 you position in hof will be listed beside your name I believe.

Thanks. Is that for nation or world?

Definitely world, not sure about nation.

Jamie is right about world, but for some reason in nation it doesn't even tell you your position so you have to search for it by scrolling through the ranking

I think also, a lot of this is to do with server load. Once the game exploded having to calculate the full hof all the time had a negative impact on the service iirc.

Why do you care about hall of fame?

It isn't a reliable indicator. You can be the best player ever but if you play once a week, you will obtain a seventh of what daily players are able to score.
One car leagues and two car leagues don't score the same points.

It simply doesn't tell the truth about player's value.

It's only an abandoned early attempt that doesn't reflect the possible achievements (nowadays you cannot have 10000 reputation points...).

Agreed, it is not related in the slightest to how good a manager is.

It is a reliable indicator if you want to know which managers are dominating their 6 or 7 days a week league but that’s all it is. Says nothing about that leagues difficulty

I agree with you both - not to mention that in my view this would not really improve the game, rather only attempting to patch a hole with little pieces of duct tape.

A better solution is to remove the HOF, as both Giovanni and Antonio said it is not reliable and doesn't reflect achievements

I think we should keep it. Perhaps a slight adjustment to the calculations is what is needed. One that takes league difficulty into account. Also fix 1 vs 2 car league reputation, and reputation inflation based on how many days a week you race. I think editing the formula would be a better solution.

I agree that the HoF is not an accurate indication of the strongest managers in the game. With the existing flexible league structure I don't see any way to accurately gauge the real strength of a manager.

IMO this is not a good reason to abandon the HoF. Some people enjoy trying to work their way to the top so why should it be removed and deny these people their achievement? It's no worse than the previous system where hundreds of people had 10,000 rep and it was ordered by newest account descending.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? If you have no means of accurately measuring manager strength, how do you determine league difficulty?

There is no easy way of quantifying league difficulty.  There is a thread in Leagues which shows the most competitive leagues (and a lot of these are strong leagues) but all it calculates is how competitive it is within a respective leagues so whether a league has super strong managers or weak ones if they are all a similar skill level within their respective leagues  the league scores will be very similar (within reason).  If people have an interest in the HOF so be it, but tend to agree with Giovanni.

Ok, valid points

It is impossible to have a single measurement of how good a manager really is. Even without flexible leagues it’s impossible.

And maybe it’s better to look at hof as a mini-game inside igp, sets a challenge for some managers, keeps them aboard so it’s not all bad

By the way: the egg for sure (fish laid eggs before there was life on land).

Obviously the chicken. How could the egg have gotten there? In your example, the fish laid the eggs. The eggs were only there because of the fish.

Just joking with you :)

OK, the egg beats the chicken, but before the egg came some chicken-fish-blob-creature. That made me think of a Dalek now.

Anyway, from egg-producing Dalek mishaps back to HoF, I don't care about that for already stated reasons but if it makes people happy an extended ranking for country sounds OK, if server load permits. Maybe rather limit update cycles.
