Provide an option to make leagues seasonal. In a seasonal league, we could decide if we want, for example, only 6 seasons a year, with longer offseasons in between when we can try other leagues or just take a break. I think this is a good idea because it's very difficult to keep a league active all the time (especially leagues of smaller nations). I'll use our league as an example, this year the league turned five years old, but the activity is quite cyclical. If we had a seasonal league, each year in those few seasons everyone would come motivated and active. There are many of us who have been playing for years and we don't have as much time (and sometimes motivation) to play as we used to however we don't want to stop playing. I think with seasonal leagues this could be solved and less people would get tired of playing.

What are your thoughts about this? Do you think it can help smaller leagues and keep players more motivated and active?

Your suggestion is too generic and vague. Can you explain more in depth what you mean?

Why can't you schedule your next league with longer breaks (among races or seasons) in order to achieve what you want?
Why should everyone be motivated and active with your proposal? (I cannot see any difference)

Try to see your thread in developers' shoes. I think this discussion can bring good ideas but it's hard to decipher what you ask for.

Of course, I will try to explain my idea in more detail and answer your questions.

As far as I know the maximum break before a new season is 7 days. The point of seasonal leagues is to have 1 month or even more between two seasons. And another important thing would be that you could leave the league for that time, and the league wouldn't be deleted even if everyone quit.

It could seem a great idea to have less races per week and as a result longer break between races. But in our case, the problem is not the number of races per week. I have asked the league many times for their opinion, but the answer has always been that there should be a minimum of 4 races per week, so when we race it should be at a regular schedule. But there are times, often several weeks or months, when it makes no sense to have races because only a few people can be active. Our league has quite a large student base, and as I've been observing, there are certain periods of the year when that student base is much busier and can't be online regardless of the number of races per week.

The reason why I think we would be more motivated is because with the current weekly races you get tired after a while. I used to look forward to every race, and as a league leader I was much more prepared for every season. Now I can't say the same and talking to the league members, I'm not the only one. It's like the Formula 1 winter break. The longer there' s no race, the more you look forward to the start of the season.

If there were only a couple of seasons a year, as a league leader, I could do a much better job of managing the season, with race summaries, more statistics, interviews and so one. That would also give everyone the feeling that this is an outstanding, unique season and not just a regular season where one follows the other.
Returning to the offseason, obviously there would be some players who wouldn't want to take a break, they could try other leagues. Two or more leagues can join forces and set their annual schedules so that one of them always has an active season. This would also mix players from several leagues, allowing us to get to know many more players.

I hope I've explained my ideas in more depth, but it's also possible that it wouldn't work the way I imagined. If anything is still unclear or comes up in anyone's mind, feel free to let me know, I'm interested to hear what you think!

You exposed good reasons. Freezing a league is a good idea. I hope this post will be considered when leagues will be reworked. It's necessary.

There are many suggestions about this topic because we all know it will make a stronger and more engaged player base. We all want the best for this game.

I like this idea - it would really be an improvement to leagues
