Wouldn’t it be interesting if we had formation laps like in real world motorsports to help with tyre temperatures and engine temperatures?
Please vote in and comment on thoughts ?.
I think it’s worth considering for IGM maybe in the future.

You already start off with perfect temps, so it isn’t needed.

You already start off with perfect temps, so it isn’t needed.

But there are ways you could give the team more responsibility. Wouldn’t you think so?

Well at the moment you have qualifying taking place ten minutes before the race starts and then they’re sitting on grid for at least eight minutes.
In Formula One the tyre and engine temperatures would fall like crazy.
So surely to make it more realistic we should be responsible for getting tyre and engine temperatures just like in F1.

It would bias those who have time to spend before the race and create a disadvantage for all others. That’s why I wouldn’t like it and I feel it would just lengthen the race for no obvious purpose.

If you want realism, best buy a racecar and compete in real races cause you’ll find realism is not a game’s core value

Except those who don’t join when the race starts or at all when race is happening are st a disadvantage anyway

I also agree with the point that Antonio made - plus this game isn’t an F1 simulation so formation laps wouldn't really add too much value - as you said the perfect temps are already there

But how do you know you have the right push levels? You have change that during the race don’t you.

Do like most of us do. PL5 from race start and look how quickly temperatures increase then adjust to make it stable. Formation lap doesn't add any value to the game. The race starts when it starts (not when formation laps happen).

Formation laps are only good from a visual point of view. Without the participation of managers, like sequence. Technical condition of the cars, tires, engine etc. remains the same, no benefits for those who entered the race earlier. But most likely it will appear (if it will appear) along with sequences of awarding the top 3 drivers on the podium, pit stops, preparation of cars by mechanics before the start, etc.

But why not make look for like a real race rather than simulated.

I get if you did a formation lap that maybe was all just a pre race animation you could watch. But other than that it adds nothing. Otherwise you’d have to add things like tire and engine wear. Just not necessary.
