Hello,
I became the host of US Grand Prix today and wanted to let people know that spots are open in Rookie and Pro. There are currently no active plays in these tiers, but you can come on in if you want to help fill it up. Elite is full and active.
Jacob
EDIT: Spots are now open in Elite.
EDIT 2: Rookie is full and active as many new players have joined.
EDIT 3: One spot is open in rookie.
EDIT 4: Rookie is full again.
EDIT 5: I will no longer update this post. You can see where open spots are at http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=league-info/1673#info
I have re-opened this post in order to propose The USGP Cup, a playoff challenge that will follow some NASCAR rules.
Rules
1- A revised regular-season points system allowing every car to score will be adopted, and the championship will be split in four Rounds (Qualification Round, Round of 8, Round of 4 and Final Round).
2- The points leader at the end of the regular season (also known as Qualification Round), along with the top 8 teams with the most wins over the first 8 races will qualify for the Playoffs provided they have attempted to qualify for every race. 2.1- A team may be exempt from the requirement to start every race if one has to miss races because of injuries, is on family leave, or under extenuating circumstances (to be decided on a poll).
3- The first four races of the Playoffs (9–12) will be known as the Round of 8, races 13–16 will be known as the Round of 4, and race No. 17 will be the United States Grand Prix Cup Championship.
4- The eight teams that qualify for the Playoffs will have their points reset to 400 points at the start of Race 9. After the first cut (Race 12), the four teams that remain will have their points reset at 600 at the start of Race 13. After the second cut (Race 16), the top two teams will have their points reset to 800 at the start of Race 17.
4.1- Every team that advances any Round will earn five Playoff points for each race win. Also, more bonus points for Top-10 in points standings at the end of the regular season: 1st place in regular season points earns 15 Playoff points in addition to the points earned with race wins; 2nd place earns 10 Playoff points; 3rd place: 8 Playoff points; 4th place: 7 Playoff points; 5th place: 6 Playoff points; 6th place: 5 Playoff points; 7th place: 4 Playoff points; 8th place: 3 Playoff points.
5- At the end of season, the final standings will be performed by following point system, excluding team championship and runner-up.
5.1- Tie-breaker will be performed after the end of Rounds by counting the number of highest finishes.
Due to the addition of custom schedules, we've set the seasons to have 15 races. So here you have the revised rules:
Rules
1- A revised regular-season points system allowing every car to score will be adopted, and the championship will be split in four Rounds.
2- The first 8 races of the regular season, also known as Qualification Round, will function to qualify the best teams to the Playoffs. The first four races of the Playoffs (9–12) will be known as the Round of 8, races 13–14 will be known as the Round of 4, and Race 15 will be the United States Grand Prix Cup Championship.
3- The points leader at the end of the regular season, along with the top 8 teams with the most wins over the first 8 races will qualify for the Playoffs provided they have attempted to qualify for every race.
3.1- A team may be exempt from the requirement to start every race if one has to miss races because of injuries, is on family leave, or under extenuating circumstances (to be decided on a poll).
4- The eight teams that qualify for the Playoffs will have their points reset at the start of Race 9. After the first cut (Race 12), the four teams that remain will have their points reset at the start of Race 13. After the second cut (Race 14), the top two teams will have their points at the start of Race 15.
4.1- Every team that advances any Round will earn five Playoff points for each race win.
4.2- More bonus points for Top-10 in points standings at the end of the regular season: 1st place in regular season points earns 15 Playoff points in addition to the points earned with race wins; 2nd place earns 10 Playoff points; 3rd place: 8 Playoff points; 4th place: 7 Playoff points; 5th place: 6 Playoff points; 6th place: 5 Playoff points; 7th place: 4 Playoff points; 8th place: 3 Playoff points.
4.3- Bonus points will also be applied to the teams that advance Round of 8 and Round of 4, referring to the rule 4.2 for point distribution.
5- At the end of season, the final standings will be performed by following point system, excluding team championship and runner-up.
5.1- Tie-breaker will be performed after the end of the rounds by counting the number of highest finishes.
6- Fifteen Grands Prix are due to run as part of the United States Grand Prix Cup. The tracks to be held in a season are chosen in a pre-defined sequence in order to achieve no Grand Prix repetition before all available races happen. This sequence can be found as so as all data from previous and current seasons in the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EaNu3jfD059_HTy5Vxke1l29zhDkzpiSU7XlxZUVydU.
I was just wondering if everyone shows up to race in elite? In pro last night we only had 6 cars finish the race the rest broke down from suspension failure
There's a peculiar fact going on in this season, José Rodriguez is actually second place in iGP standings but only 5th place while considering 32 car point system.
