Some unusual things happened today in my race.

The weather was changing continuously and we had to choose a strategy almost blindfolded. I ran the qualifying on inters, and did it well, because the track was still wet. However, when it suddenly dried up, I joined the race immediately (around 20:53) to change my tyres (back to S), but I couldn’t (neither the fuel level) unlike others. That was really strange, because I was able to do it previously everytime and I did everything in the same way… Well, I said OK, then I’ll start on inters and lose some positions but still there’s maybe a chance for me to get 1-2 points. I calculated fast that with an 4*I, 10*H, 10*H strategy I can probably save my race. I managed to get P4 and was very happy. However, when I left the race to analyse the results, I recognised that I was disqualified but still finished 4th. At the same time, I did not get any points. It was also strange because the guy who ran on M-M-M strategy was disqualified just before the last lap (correctly). I became curious and checked whether I could apply today’s strategy for tomorrow’s race without any warning (because I remembered that I did not see that warning sign when I made my strat today) and I was able to do that. My conclusion was that the game doesn’t even warn me that I’ll be disqualified (unlike when I want to use H-H-H or M-M-M etc.). It would allow me happily to do it again and that is exactly why I think that I did nothing wrong today. However, here comes an other strange thing: I got my Hall of Fame points, even though I did not get the points in the championship sadly, as I mentioned. Why? I’ve been playing since 2020, but I have never seen anything like this before.

This whole situation is so controversial... I couldn’t change my tyres before the start (like I could in every wet-dry race previously), forced to run on a strategy, which was very disadvantageous for me, didn’t get any warning from the game, got disqualified, still got my Hall of Fame points but nothing in the championship, for what I worked so hard…

Considering evreything that happened today, can I receive my 12 points for the race? It would be really good as I fight very hard for the title and my league mates also think what happened today is completely unfair.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Vince.

Thanks for taking the time to give a comprehensive report on what must have been a really frustrating race.

First let me deal with the disqualification, it is because the race was considered a dry race, the definition is a race where no rain falls between lights out and chequered flag. If tyre rules are enabled you must use at least two different DRY compounds. Inters do not qualify as one of the two compounds you must use. I agree the "Wet Race" definition is wrong, I am not agreeing with your disqualification, just explaining the reason.

As for the 4th place classification, yes you will still be classified in the results table but you will not receive any championship points and all those finishing behind you will score points for finishing one place higher than they crossed the line. You will see that the car crossing the line in 11th place got 2 points, one for a 10th place finish and one for setting the FL.

The Reputation points... I agree, ideally you should not receive them but it's not been coded this way and probably more important that other more important bugs (like you being unable to change tyres on the grid) should be prioritised.

The inability to change tyres... assuming stint 1 in your main strategy was set to Softs and you enabled Advanced Strategy you should have had the opportunity to switch between Soft, Inters and Full wets on the grid. If you couldn't this is a bug and should be raised as such so that the Devs can investigate. I'm sure you already know, but for the benefit of anyone else reading this, if you set Inters for stint 1 in your main strategy then no dry compound will be available on the grid.

As for your request for 12 points, it's not in my gift to award these but given that you did not use two different dry compounds in the race which is clearly stated in the rules, I think it's unlikely that the IGP staff will intervene and award them.
