Hey ! Guess what ladies ? Joey has something to say about prapes.
But first, let's see how it works :

Seriously, let's talk about something everybody knows and experiences regularly during races.
Here are some examples with 2 drivers : Monza S82

Hill :

Jeli (who put a 1.7s gap just before stop) :

In comparison of drivers with same strategy (25/32 for the 2nd stop) :
They both lost 5 positions in that stop, even 7 for Hill and 6 for Jeli if we take into account drivers who stopped 1 lap earlier.
In time, the loss is respectively 3.7s (Hill) and 4.3s (Jeli) as compared to the race leader (G.Thomas).
But before any further talking, let's see the results
Yes, you're seeing it right : 15 drivers within 7s, it could be even more as one driver was in top 10 and ran out of fuel just before his final stop.

In details :
Basically it can happen for all races and all stops, that only requires 2 cars (different teams) within 1s and stopping at the same time.
For most races (14/17), if the driver with bigger car number is behind he has at least 2 chances out of 3 to go out in front of the other driver.
That can happen with multiple cars and for all stops.

The reasons are pretty simple :
- there is only 1 lane in pits
- there is no priority

Consequences :
That can and that actually ruins a lot of races/fun and in the past a lot of players left the game for that reason only. Just browse the forum searching for "prapes", "pit rapes", etc ..

Solutions :
I plus other managers thought about 2 solutions.
=> The first is 2 lanes with a priority over the other lane
=> The second is a ghost mode in pits, like it is currently vs drivers not stopping (Hungary, Japan for the most obvious examples)

Thanks for reading, don't forget to comment and add your feelings/own experiences ;)

PS : I don't know when the new version is coming and if there will be any corrections to pits but we are a good amount of people thinking it's something needed in the future.

Hey, guess what? We should stop calling it "pit rapes".

lol .ghost mode in pits is d best solution. qualy also need to be sorted out at the moment its a lottery. better if its follow current f1 qualy way q1 q2 q3  ofcourse its even better if u manage it like race.

[*]I have to agree with Blunion... cant say I like the term "pit rapes"..... rape is very strong word and I really dont think its use is valid for what in realilty IS ONLY A GAME. Can you please reword this???
[*]I don't think ghost mode is the answer.... cars get held up in the pits all the time in real racing, trying to stop unsafe releases etc...

@Blunion, Jamie : I understand your reactions, this term is strong and can sound inappropriate but words are words and aim to describe things. This one is for sure the more accurate to show acts and consequences for a driver. I didn't created the term, it is old and mainly comes from a well known league : the British Racing League. You have to take it in its context : it's a game that's why it doesn't sound bad as it's only a "virtual rape", not something real with all that this implies ..

It's true, cars can be and are held up from time to time in real competitions, but in this thread I was talking about the frequencies and consequences that are way bigger than reality. Just a simple comparison (from left to right, Reality > Game) :
- from time to time > at least 66% (for a bigger car number)
- for 1 car, rarely more > for one car, often more
- possibilities to overtake > really tough to get position back without compromising race (KERS)

About solutions, ghost mode is not perfect but for sure better than currently and easier to implement than coding a full pit (2 lanes with a priority). And don't forget that cars will still lose some time (and it's good) but more for real pit time than other factors.

No, Martin didn't lose time, Pua released with a little gap. For Monaco it's something special, I call them "magic guys" because of that really short time spent in pits. The speed limiter here is bugged, he's not at the entrance but at the middle, allowing cars with high number (again ^^) to win up to 3s per stop.

Hi Joey,

Sorry, I dont think it "can sound inappropraite". I find it offensive. As you have pointed out, the term, "it is old". I can assure you, it may have been used in the BRL in the past, it most certainly isnt now.

As for the actual issue of losing time due to this issue, I suppose its going to be like a lot of things now, if its going to be addressed it will be in the new release. Maybe Jack can confirm.

Yes, that's why I added the PS at the end, because maybe it's something already resolved.

To make sure everyone can understand, I add those pictures I took in Germany :

And keep in mind that is only a basic example with 4 cars only. Hungary was a nightmare with a 100% ratio and at least 2 cars blocked/overtaken each time by the same driver. As for Great Britain, Marcel Smid can tell you his 2 last races in that country (2 different leagues) were awful, losing positions and time almost every stop.

It was solved long time ago. Anticipate when others might be pitting and you either go in before or after when you think they will be pitting, so that you have a clear run. Even if it means using a slower tyre just so that you can eat out an extra lap can sometime work out better like 9laps on Supers is pushing the tyre to it's limit and 9lap on Soft might just work out to be faster overall.

Let's not use the word "rape" let's instead use "Pit Party"

Yes i lost a lot of time every stop. About 2 sec at 1 stop(about 6 sec in the race)
It's frustrating if it happens, this have nothing to do with racing.

@James Greer : So, for you the best way to solve a problem is to ignore it .. That doesn't sound good for me but ok it's your own choice. I know all of those who don't understand our situation are racing in 100% leagues and/or less competitive/active ones. I once raced in a 100% league for 2 seasons and yes it's true, I can say in those leagues this is pretty rare and 90% of the time without any consequence for the final result.

But don't forget one really important thing both in game and reality : It's not because it's working in this way for you that it's working the same way in other places .. By "other places" I primarily mean 50% leagues and by "our situation" I'm referring to all people regularly facing this situation and trust me we are legions, come race in International F1/GP or even in a common 50% league and you'll see how that works and hurts.

And finally to answer your "solution" yes we tested the 1 lap stuff (by less or more), especially in europe, germany and great britain (the most famous places), sometimes that can work, but often at the cost of time/drs/kers lost and we're often with worn tyres or too far away for the final sprint. Another thing to keep in mind, other teams can and actually have the same idea, pitting at the same time and facing the same situation again making that "solution" useless. And like I pointed in the picture 2 cars pitting at the same pit are enough as it's more linked with car number than real time spent in pits.

PS : About the "come join us" I was serious, there is 1 spot available in both leagues so if you want you can come ;)

I started in 50% league & I was 3 and 4 times stopping. :P same happen is 25, 75 & 100%
How it's it ignoring it? It's a part of life you know what your tyres can do & you have a league news channel so you know what others can do. Use your head and work a way around avoiding others in the pit lane.

What if they added a penalty for stacking cars in the pit lane?
If the team in the box in front of you was double stacking you would be trapped in your box waiting for his first car to finish his pit stop so his second car can get out of your way. You would be complaining that's not realistic and it should be done away with too.

Yeah I agree I love everything that made the game more realistic but I think that you know in rookie tier may be pro too a lot of team pit in same time and I think there shouldn't be "pit rape" because of the car position on the box but because of the little gap between drivers or may be a fastest pit. But for example on Monco track that problem with speed limit should be fixed but may be the new update fixe it I don't know.

I think it's getting to a point that goes beyond the game and which is the following : those who have not experienced something can not understand it, so I'm gonna stop trying to explain. A lot of people know exactly what I'm talking about so it's enough for me, I just wanted equal chances for everyone and to keep it fair and fun for all.

I've already seen one time when pitting that my drivers overtake one other in the box :)
