You say it was raining at the start of the race, are you sure? If the rain had stopped before the race actually started then even though the track would still have been wet, the way a wet race is currently defined means that it would have been considered a dry race.

Even though I personally disagree with the wet race definition I am surprised that so long after tyre rules were rolled out and after so many forum reports about this issue, people are still being caught out by it.

A wet race is defined as a race where it rains at some point between "lights-out" and "chequered flag". Just because the track is still wet because it was raining shortly before the race started DOES NOT count as a wet race. If it doesn't rain it's a dry race and if it's a dry race you must use two different DRY compounds. Inters and Wets will not count towards the two compounds.

Like I said you need to use two different DRY compounds, Wets (and Inters) are not a dry compound, this is why you were DSQ.

Wets and Inters have never been counted as an eligible compound in league rules.

The best solution would be to change the definition of a wet race. Currently it needs to rain at some point during the race, if it stops raining shortly before the race begins it is defined as a dry race so you are forced to use Inters in stint 1 but still need to use two dry compounds. If the definition of a wet race was changed to water level >0 at any point in the race the issue would be solved.

Treating Inters and Wets as an allowable compound would fix 95% of the problem but there would still be scenarios which would cause issues. For 100% and even 75% races where the race starts with a wet track you would start on Inters then switch to a dry compound... problem solved. But for short duration races the track may remain wet for the entire race so even treating the Inters and Wets as allowable compounds would cause problems because in this scenario the correct tyres would be all Inters.

Anyway, Mods and other volunteers have all made this point to the developer team and I know José reads all of these threads. They are aware of the issue but with limited resources it's a matter of prioritisation. All the Mods can do is keep banging the drum on your behalf and answer these threads with the standard response... For a dry race the rules state that you must use two different DRY compounds.
