Hi guys, I am quite new to this game and I just have a quick question. Would it be faster to run my tyres down to around 30% (I've read that you shouldn't go below 40%) or do an extra stop to have fresher tyres. I am leaning towards the first option but I want to ask some more experienced managers just in case I'm missing something.

My league has no race refuelling and it is 75% race distance for context.

Thanks

I'm in a 75% no refuelling league too, making an extra stop will generally be faster than running tyres down to 30%. New tyres would be 3-4secs faster per lap than the old ones so you would get back the pitstop time easy. I change tyres at 50% using the extra speed each time to easily make up for doing more stops. I'll 3,4 or 5 stop as long as I don't go below 50% tyre wear in any stint. Also with new tyres as they keep temperature more you can use lower push levels and hence can carry less fuel, again making the car quicker.

What is considered a short or long pitstop time? Most of the tracks I've seen are around 25 seconds.

tracks like Belgium, Europe and Monaco have very short pit lanes. On the opposite Austria, China and Great Britain have long pit lanes

China I believe was 27 second loss, Austria about the same while Monaco is 15,5 or Europe 17 seconds
