Hi i ll give u an example.
We are 3 friends playing on the same league.
A player is level 10
B player is level 13
C player is level 16

We start now and our first race is Australian IGP.
Team conditions :
1) Design Team A,B,C= new start all have 1 point but cooling have points
2) Driver Skill A,B,C = all capped = A=10, B=13, C=16
3) Office level A,B,C = all capped ...
4) Research A,B,C = all capped ...

We start the race all using the same strategy and did a perfect race.
who is going to win? what would be the difference in lap time? etc...

I am not good on those complicated maths and sorry for my english also.
So l ll make it simple lets say that have set the
a) Level 20 perfect car - driver - technical director - etc and the lap time would be = 100 sec.
b) Level 1 of all the above will do 107% of lap time = 107 sec or lets say that from level 8 and up will be able to do so (not sure how u thought about it and have Rookie Pro and Elite.)

so if is like this our A ,B ,C team will do :
A= (7sec - ( A level / 20*7sec)) + 100 = 103.50 sec per lap
B= (7sec - ( B level / 20*7sec)) + 100 = 102.45 sec per lap
C= (7sec - ( C level / 20*7sec)) + 100 = 101.40 sec per lap.

so how will lower that difference so we they can be more competitive?

In my opinion drivers cap and headquarters levels (that was given for free and thank you.) didn't help for Competitiveness. That was all with out saying about design progress and level cap for chief designer.

Maybe those i am writing a simple and stupid but i hope to get some ideas from them, is something that happens to me a lot with people that saying things out of space but i couldn't think about them and making some more realistic based on the fantastic things;)

100% agreed. we've lost all parity. teams that were fighting for the race in the previous version, are now a lap down or two in a 50% race.

and... it doesn't look like we are going to be back on the fight any time soon.

i'm trying to be patient, hoping this issues change in the next days but... i dont know how this big gap between teams is going to be shortened.

There's a solution in the works for this, Jack has said he intends to bring back spying.

@Blunion. Spying doesn't solve everything though. You can only spy on one part per race (if it's done like the old system) and it also doesn't help you with your headquarters or your drivers. All it does is gives you a better car, and by the time you've cloned everything any way you've already lost half the season. You will still have lower level facilities and your drivers will simply be worse than the higher level.

I am not entirely sure how anyone can possibly keep up now without paying mega bucks to upgrade to their highest level, and even if they do get to their highest level, they're still not going to keep up with someone who is 2-3 levels higher than them.

The way this new game currently stands, the only way everyone will be on an equal playing field will be when everyone reaches level 20 and has the same opportunities for their facilities and drivers. That isn't realistic at all. It takes many, many years to reach level 20.

Can I have the race ID and the name of the teams you are referring to so I can look at a specific case example? This is much better than generically being told it's unbalanced. I'll be able to go in to the details and look at the teams levels in each area and tell you why it is the way it is, or do something about it based on the information we collect, if it needs to be changed.

The example was theoretical also the numbers as you can understand that's why was post at suggestions and not on bugs.
As the Design gives the most speed and combined with spy lower level teams will able to catch up will be ok i guess.
I am not in position to know how the variables work and i can only guess that is not easy.
So i don't know :
1) Office = morale : Drivers with morale 16 versus drivers with morale 10
2) Research = kers - drs : Team with kers - drs 16 versus team with kers - drs 10
3) Drivers = stats : Drivers with cap 16 versus drivers with cap 10
That's why i said about drivers cap and headquarters levels.
Also has to do with the flexibility and variety of the teams.
For example one team want spent for having 100% car on parts and engine. the other on Drivers training etc.

As for the Design and Chief Designer cap that leads to Design points cap that can be added on individual parts of the car, If the that cap won't be a limit for the lower teams (level 10) to catch up the higher teams (level 16) will be great;)

For Accurate numbers and if there is still problem with balance i ll come back on matter after the start of new season.

Well, Joey told me this might change when the season ends. At the moment it's turned in to a boring league when it was the best challenge i've been in.

and Jack, i left the league not because of this, i left because i'm really struggling with race-viewer performace. i'm writing messages that appear on the chat screen after 2 laps. (starts with 1 lap delay but it increases as the race goes on)
push level is showing it's effect after 2 laps so, i cant manage like this.
It's really frustrating at the moment for me.

i left just my 3rd team in it's league, just to inform about RAM and CPU usage because i really dont know what is happening (i have a late race tomorrow). Beta was running perfect at the end, but now it's imposible for me.

The same here. Impossible to follow the race in Live! It is consuming a LOT of RAM.. and demands a good Graphic card... impossible in my Laptop. It is a shame... :(

Cesar did you try this to bypass needing a good graphics card, the game doesn't use large amounts of RAM. Max is 500MB but it's below that if you have no plugins running in the browser you are using.

James.. Try what?! My laptop justa have a 2GB RAM and no dedicated graphic card.. I also try in Chrome and in Firefox.. very slow!

James accidentally closed his URL tag with an image tag. I fixed it, he means the link in his post. It has some instructions to tweak WebGL in the browser.

So you can watch the races they are just a bit lagged..

Try unchecking IPv6 in your wireless internet connection to see if it makes it more stable.

As i mention before i am on a league that started 2 days ago new season with fresh design.
The first race was balanced in my opinion so here are the resaults :

As far as i know when a team leaves a league has a penalty if i remember well 10% of the cash they own.
what for is that penalty ? its because they keep the design when they join another league and is meant to be like this ?
If so ok but in my opinion we lose the balance. If with "spy" in future we can balance that would be great;)

@Sam : Completely understand the problem I think this is best to create a new thread for it or to contact Jack by mail (not in game pm) for it.This is potentially an endless issue as old teams (with converted design) are going to join leagues in the future. The conversion was made for teams currently in a league not for old teams joining a new season against teams with new design system. The solution would be to downgrade the design when an old team joins a league.

In my opinion Design points of every Team that joins a League should reset and maybe get points according to
Team level, Chief Designer, Headquarters Design, all calculated according the stage of season of League that the team joins.
I don't know if that is possible or easy to do or if fits at the general plan of how the game should be but i think will be good to avoid huge gaps between teams.

That's entirely possible, Sam. We could build something like that.

People usually prefer to keep what they've built up elsewhere, but I guess this counts all the same. Obviously the problem highlighted with old teams returning to iGP is causing quite a discrepancy in design performance.
