Seeing KERS/DRS has no impact on race management.
It has a big impact on how you race other drivers and when you deploy your boost.
Believe me it doesn't :D So many people do not know that boost can be pretty irrelevant to the outcome of a race. In my races, how much boost I have doesn't impact my tyre or push strategy as I know when to push/pit/conserve. I use my KERS to make sure I get past slow cars only. Once I am clear I usually lap 1-2secs faster a lap.
1-2 secs faster? doesn't sound very competitive. Boost irrelevant? Join a competitive league and you will realise that boost usage matters much more than you think.
My league is highly competitive, we just know how to actually operate the race management properly in the intended way that 98% of iGP managers do not know how to race properly with their cars. Just to be clear, I am not going into this as this is something you need to learn with experience. Good luck.
Bringing this back on topic, boost is highly impactful for single-car leagues. For 2 car leagues players can take advantage and alternate DRS between drivers, ultimately minimising the importance of boost.
Whereas in a single car league using boost to pull away from a slower driver, if ahead can slow you down on tracks like Hungary, Singapore and Mexico or to catch a DRS train on a different strategy are crucial elements to winning a race.
I think the boost visual is fine, I just don't think competitors should be able to see your usage and the % of boost you have. Making boost visibility an option for league hosts to turn on/off in my opinion is ideal as the league can vote on what they want.
