For the next race, i go in and setup my car selecting suspension firmness, ride height, and wing level, and then save the changes. If i go to another part of the game, and navigate back to the race setup, it displays values i did not save. Did it save my choices? Why doesn't it display what i saved?

Did you buy ideal setup? If so it will override any changes and give you the ideal setup for the current weather.

Will the race run with what I saved or the ideal setup? I assume what is saved

Ideal setup overrides any setup changes once added. Is there any reason you would want to have a less than ideal setup? If so, don't add ideal setup next time because it will always revert to that.

I did the ideal setup and a practice run, and then i tweaked the settings and got a faster lap time. So i wanted the faster settings. I didn't trust the ideal setup, but thought it would get me in the ball park. So did ideal and then tweaked it.
