I'm running a poll re an Xmas break. As host I can postpone races but can I delete a race(s) from a season? Adding a postponed race at the end of the season creates an odd week. Races are 20 per season and at 1900GMT Mon to Fri.

Hello,

Races cannot be taken out of a calendar once the season has begun, however the season length can be changed for next season which may help to counter your odd weeks.

Just a side note, postponed races take place in the next calendar slot - not at the end of the season.
When you postpone a race by 24 hours, it takes place the next race day and every other race is shifted by 1 day.

How do I change the season length, say by one less race?

Hello,

To change the calendar length, follow these steps:

The three dots button on the league page ➡️ The settings cog button ➡️ Edit League ➡️ Schedule ➡️ Circuit Selection ➡️ The +/- buttons in the top left corner.

NOTE: Any changes to a league's schedule, including season length, will only take effect from the next season.

Is it possible to delete last race Austria) for Transatlantic Racing League #53993 season 79? As host, following a poll, I've delayed the Dec 25th (Malaysia) race to Dec 26th and tried to reduce the number of races to 19 but it didn't work. So now the last race will be run on Jan 15 - when we would normally start the next season - instead of Jan 12. I'm new to hosting and haven't quite got the hang of it yet.

Hello,

Apologies for the delayed response.
Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, once a season is generated, the calendar cannot be adjusted, and therefore races cannot be added, or in this case, removed.

However, when I was brainstorming, I came up with a solution which may enable you to end this season on a Friday and return to your normal Monday-Friday schedule without having to delete any races at the end of the season.
If you delay the final race, currently scheduled for the 15th January, to Friday 19th January, the season finale will be on a Friday. However, this solution would cause a 4 day break before the season finale which most likely would not be ideal for your league.

Alternatively, temporarily adjusting the number of races in your league's season may also help to revert you back to your intended M-F schedule.
If I've calculated correctly, setting next season to be 18 races (rather than 20) would mean that the final race would be on Friday 9th February 2024. This would enable you to go back to your standard 20 race, Monday-Friday schedule for the sesson season beginning Monday 12th February 2024.

I hope this helps.

Additionally, for detailed information and advice with league hosting, I recommend that you read the Guide to League Hosting, which was written by Leo, the long-term and successful host of the Formula Zero family of leagues.

Thanks Connor. I too have been thinking about this dilemma and reckon that by adjusting next season to 19 races will solve it. Four races 16th to 19th then 3 x 5 race weeks. This I think is the simplest solution with not too much change.

Hello,

You're welcome.

Just a quick note - due to the mandatory break between seasons (minimum 1 day), next season would start, at the earliest, Wednesday 17th January 2024. This means that your next season would need to only be 18 races (not 19) to correct your schedule.
