I was wondering whether drivers' age has an influence on race pace. If 2 drivers race for the same team, but one is 18 yo and the other one is like 37, there will be a difference, if they have the same stats?
Thanks in advance!

Yes there will be a difference, I would expect the 37 yo to be slower

If I'm not wrong, age has no effect whatsoever in terms of a driver's pace. The only effects that I think age has is:

1. Depending on the age of the driver. It may take longer to train the driver(Driver level also affects this).

2. Determine the age at which your driver will retire.

Other stats like: Driving ability, mentals and stamina, special ability, talent level. Are what affects the race pace.

Also, the development of your car also has a major effect on the race pace of your driver.

I’m afraid you’re wrong, age has an effect on race pace, in qualification as well as in race.  Two identical drivers, one aged say 22 the other 37, that older driver will be slower. Very hard to measure or to proof and I don’t know the exact differences so it could be very small but it’s there

1) is correct
2) is also affected by hospitality building in hq

I believe age does matter, but it is also possibly not a fixed point at which they become worse.

I had a driver who was still competing, other than the odd qualifying blip at 40/41 no problem but others have noticeably deteriorated in performance in their mid 30's.

I used to almost exclusively race two car so I often have a direct comparative in the team mate for that sort of thing.

I'll just toss my 2 cents in here.

I do believe that age makes a difference in the game, however it is not very bad. Almost not noticeable at all in fact.

Look at this post from Jack: https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/5789
"If you ever saw a level drop off of any skill on a driver, this was the effect of atrophy. It was only applied to reserve drivers in the new iGP, but it was not clear enough what impact this was having or why it was happening to most people. So, even if it increased realism to some degree to atrophy inactive drivers skills, it has been removed for the sake of clarity."

So Atrophy was coded into igp at some point, but it was only for driver's that were not actively racing. Now I could be speculating, but I do believe that it never got turned off with age, so a fully maxed driver at 19 years old might be a tenth faster then a driver about to retire. Honestly not that bad, it really shouldn't be a worry for anyone who isn't trying to race at the highest level possible in igp.

Edit: I stand corrected. I have been shown otherwise, as I misunderstood what atrophy affected

Sorry but you are the one wrong.  Age has no impact on driver performance.  In previous of the game there was something called Driver Atrophy but I believe  this was removed when the game introduced the mobile version or soon after.

Hey managers,

There is a point at which pilots reach a progressive decrease in performance (it is almost imperceptible as it is counterbalanced in many cases by the experience attribute).

Some very experienced managers have already come to this conclusion in the past. I would like to remind that this is a game of strategy and they can decide whether or not to share the conclusions they have reached. Our position from the game staff is to keep these details hidden and let the players themselves be the ones to find out.
