How about instead of having to manually train, the drivers and pit crew get trained by staff automatically. This would mean a change in Doctor to Trainer and the better the Trainer the quicker they train, and the quicker they recover. Thoughts? Add ons?

Wouldn’t that be dumbing down the game?  As long as I read it correctly, feels like it’s just adding a feature so you don’t have to press a button

How is not having to do something repetitively and for no actual realistic reason 'dumbing the game down' ?

What thought process led you to think, there is "no actual realistic reason"?

Driver stats translate to driver's performance on track. And the way you improve driver's stats is through training. Someone that religiously trains their drivers everyday until the point they're maxed out in terms of stats should have an advantage over a lazy / forgetful individual that doesn't.

Someone that trains their drivers to minimum and then uses tokens to regain their health will have an advantage. Most people don't bother with a high price doctor. It's a manager game, managers get staff to do things for them. Put a trainer in instead that is actually useful.

What thought process did you have when you decided to make a ridiculous statement instead of stating your argument? The
thought process part wasn't needed.

Where exactly did i state that training wasn't needed? I know what training is for I've been doing this since 2017.

I would say having the doctor auto train stamina and BMI, with an option for the team manager to boost this, would be the idea.
Having the team manager dictate and train all the mental and driving ability traits would be more accurate in my opinion.  As, if IgP towers were to do this type of thing you suggest, I think they would not agree to keeping the flexibility thatcwevalready have in the choice of where a driver gets trained.

I think the physical traits only training would also allow us to make higher level doctors more powerful as well, as is your want.

I'd go with that.

This is really funny (sorry, but it is).  Using your logic why bother logging in at all?  Let the game do everything for you ?

I don't understand the criticism of this idea, or how anyone can say that the concept of not having to press a button to train a driver is in some way "dumbing the game down".

The facilities build themselves automatically in the background when you're not logged in, health recovers at 5% per hour when you're not logged in, yet nobody suggests this is dumbing down the game.

We already moved part way to automated training when the Devs introduced the training multiplier some years ago. Before this, you had to press the training button at least half a dozen times a day to fully train a driver. This was irritating so the Devs introduced the multiplier which you can set at X10 meaning you only need to press the button once. The next logical step would be to remove the need to press a button at all. You would still need to initiate the training but it would happen automatically in the background.

IMHO, removing the need to make unnecessary button presses is not dumbing the game down. My preference would be to automate training (as suggested by the OP) but make the options more varied so you have to really think about where you want to develop your driver. Instead of having only three areas (Driving, Mental and Physical) and leaving the game to decide which exact attribute to increment, every one of these would be individually selectable by the manager. A bit like buildings, some of them would be more powerful than others and these would take longer to train once initiated.

You have to login to do your setup, strategy and fuel, you don't need to login to race, it will do it itself. You don't need to login and manually build HQ items, it will do it itself. My logic is that the Doctor is practically useless as a staff member.. i don't even remember the last time i hired one myself the game does it automatically when their contract runs out. (i don't have to login to do this either). Doctor can train as Timothy says, the health aspects, a driver trainer can do the race craft aspects. Given the training costs nothing anyway and high level staff and drivers from academy actually cost more tokens then they used to, and more than they do from transfers, then it's better from the business perspective as well.

I appreciate you have been playing here for a long time and have no idea if you have played other games,  but being expected to manually click on a button to improve/train/upgrade etc is pretty normal in the gaming world especially in management/strategy games.

Moving more and more aspects of this game to automation is not necessarily a good thing and I do believe the term dumbing down is an accurate one.  A good example of this is Manager XP this is added automatically, but it would be much better if the Manager had the choice of when to apply this especially as the relationship between Manager level and research power is broken. At the higher levels.  They might not be ready to move up a level based on their current staff/ building levels and may not be in a position to replace these once they have been auto upgraded.

You forget at lower levels training has more management to it, it’s making decisions about health loss and the consequences it has during race and that extra point (skillpoint or stamina) which also has a consequence in race.

Idk, maybe you and Chris have been high level for a long time, where training (red star drivers) is completely different and indeed the doc has less importance
