If I took on an engine supplier who had +30 acceleration every single race ,would my max acceleration in design points stop at 170  as anything after this would be of no use ?

Hello,

Yes - As 200 is the design Hard Cap, having a +30 ACC engine would limit your design points to 170 (170+30=200).
