Hiya,

Could you change the rules so a car sitting at the side of the road doesn't score points, it's not fair on the ones that finished...

Hi Jay. What is the issue here? To be classified as 5th and 6th these two cars must have run out of fuel on the final lap. Why should they get no points while cars that were 1 lap behind and did not even start the final lap get points?

This is in line with real motorsport rules. It’s possible to be classified in the standings after a retirement  and earn points depending on the situation.

Don't use the real-life card here please, it's against the rules of the game to use the real-life card... LOL I don't agree with it happing in real-life either, that's why I'm asking for the rules to be changed.

Well I hope your opinions at least extend to all lapped
cars also getting zero points otherwise that would be utterly inconsistent. If you finish the race a lap down you technically don’t complete the full race distance. It’s as good as a DNF in many ways.

Well one lap down would count as 90% of the race covered, based on realistic rules.
Whereas 2 laps down would count as 80% of race completion, so on and so forth.
But as I want the rule changed, yes! I would be behind all the lapped cars not just the ones that where one lap down.

But how. If they never started the last lap, but I did but finished the final lap. Why should they be ahead of me?

What is your logical reasoning?

Surely it's better to build a fast car that retires on the final lap of the race than a car so slow it can't even get to the final lap before it is finished.

I think that's is totally correct and it's 100% real

There's been five races in my league. I've only been in the league for three of them. I'm in second place yet I've really only completed two the races technically. It's real gift scoring points for not even seeing the checkered flag.. LOL

That’s because all those behind you didn’t set up and some probably didn’t turn up for the race and others are inactive accounts

Here is my take on this matter...

If you take this idea to an absolute EXTREME, then the rules should state that 10 or more cars do not complete the full race distance, no points should be awarded for the entire race to anybody.  This would be unfair on those teams that did have cars finish.
Also, if you are not giving teams that have fuelled all the way up to the last 3/4 of the last lap, for example, points.  That is just a second punishment for playing at the wrong side of brinkmanship.  That car will alresdy have given up positions due to its slowing to a stop.  That is unjust.

Ergo, I am fully on Red Craigie's side on this one, as it would be an unfair rule to all of those apart from those whom have not been into the game for some time.  But those teams can either be booted by hosts or are booted, eventually, by timed means, automatically.

It's rejected and you missed the point.
Me sitting on the side of the road wouldn't get points. The lapped cars that did finished the race, would get points.

It's a pucked up rule that also need to be changed in reality. The checkered flag tells you, you've completed the race. Sitting at the side of the road watching the checkered flag on the big screen shouldn't count... LOL

Your logical is non existent. Cars that finish a lap down don’t reach the chequered flag either. Therefore by your logic cars that finish the race a lap down must not receive points either.

Look at the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix. Only 3 cars finished the race. So should 4th 5th and 6th have received no points? No their is a classified order of finishing order which points are awarded for. That order determine whether or not you get points. If you finish a lap down, the cars that retired on the final lap finished ahead of you because they finished that lap that you were forced to stop at the end of before you.

Let’s all stop wasting time here as you say it’s rejected and you will never see this implemented either in a game or in reality.
