Hi there, I can pretty much now confirm there is a very unfair penalty in iGP Manager that is applied to Championship winners.

This became obvious between my drivers.

My Driver 1 won the first Championship in Season 28
My Driver 2 Won the second championship, with Driver 1 severely underperforming in Season 29

Their performances were a complete flip, even when I tried to give my defending champion driver more focus to get them ahead but they were notably slower.

This happened again with

My Driver 3 won the 3rd championship in Season 30
My Driver 4 won the 4th Championship, with Driver 3 severely under performing in Season 31

In Season 32, Driver 3 is substantially faster than Driver 4. It's clear when you win a championship you have  Ballast Penalty.

Now coming back of 2 Back to Back Team championships, My pace is 35seconds off against people who I was finishing miles ahead. It is so blatantly obvious there is a ballast penalty on Champions cause even when Defending a Team's Championship, in the 2nd Season of my reign (Where I won Season 1, 3 and 4).

In season 32, I have nowhere the pace, despite the best drivers, Pit crew and top in design. But on straights, despite running less fuel, other cars breeze pass me to where I finish 35seconds down in 2 of the 5 races we've completed this season.

Cars finished with 6L spare were faster than my car that finishes 0.3 and 0.4L and on better tiers.

Hey David,

I can confirm without any doubt that we don’t apply any kind of penalty or hidden ballast to championship winners.

Then explain in the first couple of races how I could with far less fuel than others, be substantially slower to being off the lead by 35seconds after winning the Championship with a dominant run at the end of the season. When most of our cars are equal at the start. :(

Hutchison is the Defending champion, on the same strategy and pitted first, yet his laps and pace is way off. Lap 24/70

Lap 25/70

now he is 10-12secs behind, he had DRS from 11.58 seconds a moment ago. it's now back at 11.49 at the end of lap 26.
