This is basically because the fastest lap of the race is not clearly announced, which can cause confusion when analyzing the score after the race and seeing, for example, that second place was scored with 19 points, without justification.

You can see the fastest lap during the race.

On the right menu (maybe at the bottom on mobile app?), where you see the timesheet, some of the header's can be pressed. This toggles what they display;
- you can change gap to lead, which shows the gap to the car in front or the gap to the lead car
- you can change sectors between sector time or sector difference (+/- the previous laps sector time)
- you can change pits to age, which shows the age of the cars tyres
- you can change lap time to best lap

When showing the 'best lap', the fastest lap is highlighted in purple.

Yeah but what hurts having a small purple stopwatch icon beside the driver name on the grid list? Most newer players probably don't even know there are toggles on the timesheets.

And likewise they wouldn’t know what a purple stopwatch meant like many don’t know the difference between a green and grey petrol pump.  Changes to the game need to add a significant benefit to justify the time required to make the change and this really doesn’t add anything beneficial as purple lap time or purple stopwatch is pretty meh

The fastest lap is indicated on the results page in purple so nothing wrong here

But in the race this is not made explicit, I think adding this would be better, after all, sometimes one person or another may prefer to compete for the extra point

Your original suggestion about you feeling it was not clear after the race when analysing results ?‍♂️.

Announcing it during the race would be pretty pointless in imo since, with the exception of the stronger leagues, you always see a last lap boost fest.  I’m also not sure how many ppl would notice it mid race anyway.  It’s a bit like a fast pit time it passes you by without much notice

Maybe the clock icon would be better (in the race you have to go to Sector-by-Sector / Fastest lap and deal with the contrast)

Having a quick indicator could be good.
