A few bits need adding to the league search to make it easier to find a league that matches what yoru after.
you need to be abe to pick leagues with open spaces as most are full when you search.
the search gives you the most populated leagues which is fine but when you only get 5 league results shown and they are all full how do you join a league with spaces.
a scroll box so you can scroll down the leagues till you get to one that has spaces.
also make it so that ppl are locked to the league for that season, that would stop hoppers.

Hi Dan, I don't understand how you are seeing leagues which are full. The page specifically blocks them from being displayed.
Did you by any chance have a filter on the old iGP which maybe hasn't cleared? It's the only thing I can think of. Try clearing your cache and if it's still happening could you post a screenshot or two to show me what you are seeing? That would be very helpful.

There really are some settings of the current filter that return full leagues. For me the filter settings of, 1 or 2 cars, monday wednesday friday, and start time of 1700 return full leagues. If I change the settings to 2 cars, every day, open leagues display.
I also cannot get the league Violet Meadow to display even though I enter it's exact data in the filter.

Are you sure these leagues aren't filling up as you go to join them? E.g. if you have the league select page open for a minute, maybe others are joining in that time.

No, I am pretty sure there is a glitch. I tried to find TTHE Virtual Racing Federation that posted in the leagues forum by using the filters. No matter what other parameters I entered it returned the same full leagues as long as I had only Tuesday and Friday selected. Violet Meadow only has two teams in pro yet cannot be found using the filters even though it is an everyday league.

yep i have tested it too.
it doesnt give you results based on the days you choose, i picked tues and fridays and it gives me leagues running on days other than those days,lol.
it always puts the higher member league top of any search so maybe its bringing up full leagues as it searches via number of members rather than days of the week as a priority

well, i dont see a big problem with the league hoppers. There is really a hard punishment for hopping league (car will be reset to 1 points and you get a financal punishment).
I guess you should display all leagues within a range of +-2hours of the favorite time that suits also with the filter.
For the filter: i just thinking if this is a positive or negative filter.

Like I said, I will look in to it properly tomorrow. I did a quick check tonight and confirmed the issue of full leagues being shown though, so I am concerned about that and will look to fix it.
It seems to occur when filters are applied.

I've improved the filters so that full leagues won't be shown under any circumstances and removed the reputation check so that more options are shown.
I still don't have any plan to show empty leagues, though. Is there any reason that should change? If you are creating a new league all you need to do is get 1 person to join in any given tier before it will show for other players in the suggested leagues list. That seems perfectly reasonable to me, otherwise people will just be creating dead leagues all over the place and having dead leagues recommended to them. People want to join active leagues.

You could perhaps add a filter that searches for empty/1-person leagues.

but you need to list empty leagues or how will they get members?
if most search the leagues then the newly created one will never stand a chance of growing.
it may also be better to limit league hopping, once you join a league your there for the season and cannot leave that way it stop hoppers and means more leagues will be populated.

As I said, if just one person joins any tier of a league it will show up to people in that tier as a recommended league. If one person joins Elite in your league then all Elite players will start to see it in the recommended list, if they filter the results to find it. But by default only the most populated leagues are recommended to all players unless they apply enough filters that only leagues with 1-2 people show up.
This is obviously to keep the game experience the best for everyone, and avoid new players just joining iGP coming to a league with one car in it and thinking "well this is dull" and then never playing again. Our priority is the health of the game and community, while individual league hosts obviously consider the priority to be their own league(s). There's no happy middle ground on this one, we can't compromise the quality of leagues shown to people to help out smaller leagues because it will hit player retention across the board and damage iGP. We can only encourage league hosts to bring some friends with them when they start a league. That will get the ball rolling, and make it easier to start recruiting more players.
