I made a setup for a race yesterday, and now it shows "current weather" as raining and both of my drivers are telling me that their setup is totally wrong, made the optimal setup with bolts for one of them and the setup changed dramatically, is this what is supposed to happen?

Also, when I drove the first testlap it was raining and the driver wanted me to go to a totally different direction than what they wanted now.

Yes. Absolutely. Rain will normally need to raise the car and more downforce i think. In the old game you changed pretty much the entire setup and the car is totally different.

Its why you try and wait till as close to race time as possible to do you setup.

On the subject of rain we need more info. All we have is a number?

I raced at Malaysia yesterday, an hour before the race it was raining. Decided to keep an eye on it incase it changed yet the only info I have is a rain cloud? Using inters or wets is just a complete guess for practice. Fine I can find out in my runs, but then the times were very much the same. I went for full wets since its been raining a while, it turns out inters were quicker for the race. So how am I supposed to know this?

And to add to this, I was just about to win a wet race around Spa in a competitive league in a shit car purely based on strategy. 3 laps from the end, from the graphic at the top right hand corner which is smaller than a fucking finger nail, a couple of drops of rain disappeared from under a cloud. Apparently i'm supposed to stare at this cloud for the entirety of the race incase it changes. So from this hard earned comfortable lead I had, I gave it up because my driver thought it was best to come in for mediums, on 3mm (whatever the fuck thats supposed to mean). Weather is a pretty important aspect of races on here, fucking sort it out. It shouldn't be tucked away in the corner. Maybe have a message come up clearly in the middle if something major is happening.

Also perhaps consider changing the wording of the "if it STOPS RAINING, switch to x tyre" part of the race strategy page, to "if it DRIES, switch to x tyre". It stopped raining at "3mm", its all good and well selecting intermediates but if this happens with 40 laps of a race remaining I will spend 3/4 of those 40 laps on the wrong tyre when the track eventually dries out.

All good suggestions, thanks for the feedback.

Anthony, we will do something to make the weather changes much clearer in the viewer. It has been on our minds and we knew it was only a matter of time before someone got caught out by it, sorry that it ended up being you. There will be much clearer indications, possibly the commentary box will flash to another colour and announce a weather change.

+1 on the change of tyres....

Before we used to at least be able to say, switch to X tyre X laps after it stopped raining. You had least had some control, specially in case you didnt make the race. You didnt get hung out to "dry" on dry tyres on a what was still a very wet track?

Hi Jack,

today's British GP it started raining, default was intermediate wet tyres, after few laps at 3mm rain on push 3 temp started falling i put on full push, and the result ended engine freezing ....

we decided to go on wet tyres, and that tyres on push 3 as well traversing towards red part of temp indicator, and on controling the same rythm of car was lost and speed got reduced by 1-1.5 sec per lap.
Why such a big difference between 2 tyres cooling system

@Jack: yes, i think weather is one of the most important issues at the moment.
- weather forecast shows actual condition but we lost the forecast for the actual day. i mean, actual condition is really important because it could change the next minute but, the forecast for the actual day is also needed.
- decimal numbers in the race viewer are also important. after the rain stops, we can see 0mm but the track is still wet. (today Inters were 2 seconds faster with 0mm, i bet it was 0.9mm, am i right?)
- strategy is not enough at the moment. drivers try to pit the same lap the weather changed. we need to set a number of laps after the weather change. x number of laps after start raining and x number after rain stops.
- weather forecast and, race viewer should show a text or a better way to see if it's light rain, rain or moonson.

thanks
