KERS and DRS not working compared to others?

I'm below lvl 5 (lvl 3) and don't have the building to research tech. I watched my race today and saw a lot of other cars were using DRS and KERs while my drivers were not. They are also lvl 3 and shouldn't have the buildings needed for that. My drivers are all much better than the others when you compare ratings.

What gives?

I clicked the KERS power bar during live race and that wouldn't work or change anything. Both of my guys used maybe 5% of their KERS reserve vs other driver who used all or most of it.

Can you make a screen of both a live race and your headquarters, that will help us to determine what is wrong.

Hi, I was in that race. I definitely don't have the research building but I had KERS and I'm 90% sure I had DRS available. I found that I had to hold down the button to actually use the KERS (this is the first race I was able to attend), so maybe it was confusion over whether or not the button was a toggle?

I dunno. It's hard to find any info around here that's relevant to the new game, so it's possible all drivers in this version are able to use KERS from the start. It's not even readily apparent at first that there is a new game and 95% of the forum info is obsolete.

I know also, you cant use the short cut keys for KERS when you have the chat window open, which a lot of us would have. you need to select the most left hand option of the 4 (unknown/chat/pit strat/options)

So if you looking to run both cars at the same time (say a new lap record attempt, you can have chat open.

Other wise you can just use your mouse and press the KERS button in the bottom corners
