Hello managers. I would like to raise a point regarding the manufacturers/suppliers system. I noticed that once a supply price is set, there's no way to lower it. I'm thinking of a scenario where the customer may not agree with a new price, and the supplier is unable to reduce it. I believe that even the possibility of negotiating this price individually would be a new experience, considering that a beginner team would have more options. I'm not sure if I made myself clear, but if you find the topic interesting, feel free to share your opinion!

Interesting. This game was originally browser only, the mobile friendly version was released in 2016.

Pre 2016 update, I recall there was an element of negotiation with drivers over their salary. When their contract came up for renewal you could often negotiate a lower price than they were asking for providing you had a good relationship with them.

Your relationship with the driver was influenced by, amongst other things, how supportive you were of them in post race press releases.

I might be wrong, but this team relationship system also exists in a game called Motorsport Manager...

It exists in most sports strategy games where you have to renew contracts. In these games bad negotiation can lead to them leaving at the end of their contract.

The issue with such a system in iGP Manager be that it can be expensive to recruit new drivers and to make it cheaper would impact iGP’s revenue model.

I would rather everything be more expensive. No manager in iGP should be struggling for money!

He means a new driver can be expensive. A high talent one costs 70 tokens for driver plus 200 for legendary special ability. If you would lose that driver when contracts up for renewal, because you gave a bad press conference, … unsustainably costly.

Then if you make drivers cheaper, that cuts into igp income from token sales.

They can add a driver's final salary request,or idk how to say ,sorry for my english.I mean a driver if he will stay in yout team for 1 year.In 1 year i think his salary will be close to 2m,not sure but probably will be something like that, and you want to offer him a 1.5m salary, and he rejects and says, you give me 1.8m or i leave, and you will have the option,to sign a new driver or to stay with the one you have
Probably what i said is not the best example because you probably after 1 year will have the tokens for a new driver

That’s a massive oversimplification.  A manager newly promoted to Elite in a competitive 2 car league will soon struggle for money if they don’t make their sponsor targets (the algorithm may need looking at since some managers can get stuck on unrealistic targets?) .  Yes, cash is easy to acquire if you are successful, but in a environment which is almost a zero sum game there have to be winners and losers

If I recall correctly, in old iGP (what we play today is iGP v2), there were relationships to be maintained with drivers, suppliers, and sponsors (and I think staff as well). It was very rudimentary and didn't add any value to the game. I'm glad they did away with it.

Having a good relationship with drivers meant renewing contracts was more likely, renewing contracts with suppliers meant future contracts could be negotiated to a slightly lower price each time, and meeting race objectives meant happier sponsors who were also more likely to agree to pay more on contract renewals.

But like I said, it was all rudimentary and easy to figure out in the long term. If everybody figures out the race to the cheapest and best contracts, it's not an aspect of the game worth keeping.

Almost correct. Older iteration of the game had you gain a familiarity reputation which allowed the Bracket of signing a supplier or person to your team to be cheaper, it wasn't progressively cheaper as each time you renewed a person's contract it increased.

To my earlier point. There is no reason to make suppliers cheaper.

I am building my own engine with 2 customers, 5 Drivers on team and all of my race objectives are 1st or 2nd which I have only achieved so many so far. This is my sheet from this season so far:

Suppliers do not need to be cheaper.
