We've taken the decision to hold off on launching apps for iOS and Android until March 2017. There are a couple of reasons for this. We will use the extra capacity to focus on adding more features and improvements to the desktop game for the remainder of 2016 (good news for anyone playing on the web app). It will also mean we can add a lot more polish to the mobile/tablet version of the game before launch.

I've decided to announce this right away, just 5 days in to Q4, the period during which we'd originally hoped to launch the apps. I did this because it's apparent to us now that things would be rushed if we were to try and get them out this quarter, so there is no point in hesitating to make a decision and let you guys know. We hope you all appreciate being kept in the loop and well informed on these kinds of things. We're doing our best to make sure you get the facts as soon as we have them.

A beta version of the mobile apps will still be available before March 2017 for people to try. We want to gather as much feedback as we can before the eventual release, so this will be important. But with such a small team (3 people at this time), it's always a choice between doing things to a high standard in an orderly manner, or trying to do them all at once and rushing them. Even if it means waiting a bit longer, it's always worth taking the extra time to do things properly.

We're very excited to get the apps released, but we want to make it the best experience possible when we do. There are also lots of things we will be improving in the desktop game in the meantime, as our focus can now remain on that for the rest of 2016. Those of you already enjoying the game on the web app can look forward to a raft of improvements to the game this year as a result of this decision.
