Hide Opponents ERS Percentage

Hide opponents ERS % ?

45.61% (26)
YES - I think racing would be a bit more interesting.
54.39% (31)
NO - I don't see that it would change anything.

Hello.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this before, so apologies if I'm repeating the topic/suggestion.

I think hiding the ERS % would make for more exciting racing.
Here I don't mean to cancel the graphics when using ERS, but the possibility to see how much battery the other driver has left.

KERS being revealed to other teams will have 0 impact on the outcome of the race.

Different strategies is what determines a race. If the majority of your league are on the same strategy and the race win is determined on who has X amount of KERS remaining, you are not using the optimal strategy for your car.

Every team's car will benefit differently on different sets of tyres and with higher fuel or lower fuel.

In my league, I am often the higher paced car, despite being 10 Litres heavier per race at lap 1 than 2nd placed team all last season.

Sometimes they finish 20secs ahead, sometimes I finish 20secs ahead. Bahrain I have mastered with 7-straight wins over the last 3 years there, and I am on a completely different strategy to others. One year someone tried to replicate my strategy and they were way off the pace despite having a better developed car.

Refer to this race. For an example, pay attention to my cars and Squadra speedgeek, we are not in a DRS train we're often 2-10 seconds apart but the gap changes wildly. This is because of the fuelling strategies we both did were wildly different and I was significantly faster at the end of each stint and even in the final stint, you can see me rapidly close when he didn't get backmarker DRS, even though we were on the same tyre strategy (albeit offset by 1-2 laps on pitstops)

The suggestion is about making races more exciting, not about the outcome of a race!

If you want to make the racing more exiting, then going for no visualisation of the boost may very well not work in the way that you are all thinking.  I think that doing that may lead to more people hoarding boost til the last lap of races.

If you want to make things more interesting, may I suggest a new league host selectable rule where the host can set the maximum boost percentage allowed for the last laps of races.  Any more boost left over will not be allowed to be utilised.

Just spitballing that one to see where it lands on the wall.

I don't understand why you want to penalize those who use boost efficiently.

But anyway, with this method, the best savers would burn the necessary amount in the penultimate lap (that could not be used for the last lap), and the result would be very similar.
