Hello  :o)

Does the tyre wear out faster when overheating and does the weather (temperature) have an influence on the wear rate (the percentage in the training laps)? I think the weather has no influence. I have never seen the numbers changing when doing training laps at different temperatures.

When the wear rate in percent is shown on training laps, is my "tyre economy" already taken into account ? Or is the wear rate in percent always the same (fixed) on the respective track / for the respective type of tyre and I additionally have to add the effect of my "tyre economy"?

Hi Hein

Overheating is not good for tyres. Exactly how, I don't fully know myself. But it's bad don't do it!

Temperature does not affect the wear rate directly. However it does impact how hard you can push, and push level DOES impact the wear rate.

Practice laps the tyre economy is considered.

However be aware that the tyre wear is rounded and that especially for the lower figures, (5% and lower I would personally say) those decimals can make a difference in the "good" life of a tyre.

Assuming you've chosen the right tyre compound for the specific track (and not super softs at 40C at Monza) but a tyre compound you can control the temperature to optimal range with push level, then overheating can wear out your tyres faster.

Pushing hard affects your tyre wear rate and you are generally over pushing if you overheat, meaning higher tyre wear.

The rest, what Red said.
