Hi,

I run an offline league but one player is proving so much stronger than the rest of us, players have started to leave and i fear more will follow. Strong players have worked hard to achieve a certain level but i'd like to understand if anyone has any ideas/suggestions that i could try to level the playing field, it's an offline league so not easy but if anyone has experiece of this i'd like to hear from you.

Hi Mark

If someone is dominating an offline league with similar staff and resources to you, it's most likely down to one of car design, understanding of strategy or push level selection. I ran a highly competitive offline league for somewhere close to a year.

I don't know how you run the league but you could consider alternating between No Refuelling and Refuelling to make it harder to copy previous strategies and keep design requirements variable, but that may not help your issue.

You may also want to consider monitoring usage of favourite tracks, but that can be quite time consuming and not many players have the resources to maintain a huge roster of drivers or continuously pay 50 tokens to change it.

Seeing the last few gaps that this player is winning by, I'm going to assume that its either push levels or a specific car design issue across your league.

Car Design: Fuel Economy is pretty important for no refuelling, especially at 100%, if you don't invest in it early on you will be dominated by someone who is starting each race 10 - 15 litres lighter than you quite easily.

Push Levels: It's probably the single most important factor in offline racing, your choice of default push level for the race.

As a rough rule of thumb, you are looking at a 10 degree difference between each push level, but what drives which one is effective is the average speed. So the ideal push level at monza is different to the one for hungary at 20 degrees

Hope theres something useful in this for you.

Many thanks for your reply, the player is winning most races by a margin of 10-35sec, he's rated first for acceleration, braking and handling, not fuel economy funnily enough...he's clearly very good with strategy and push levels, appreciate you taking the time to respond...feels a bit like chasing Red Bull in 2023

Craig is spot on and I raced in the League he managed for about 6. Months (using another account) so know he is very knowledgeable.   Having looked at the results of your previous races one additional point I would add is fuelling.  Your league leader knows how to fuel so that he finishes with close to zero fuel at the finish.  With a couple of exceptions most of you are carrying too much fuel and have >2 - 3L at race finish.  This will make a difference to the relative race speeds

Mark, I don’t know if you’ve time to check if he’s online during your league races? That could also explain it

Thanks Guys, yes fuel levels i suspect and push levels are where he has a signifcant advantage, i end most races with 2-3 litres which isn't optimum...

He doesn't join the races, most view using another account, he's just very good it seems
