Just thinking it would be cool if we had something like 15/20 practice laps and then we could control our qualification laps and had 2/3 laps to qualify, that way we could actually work on what engine points to use and works best on each track etc, at moment it’s just guessing

If we do it like this we Have to make the ideal set up to be found harder

But the tracks are rotated each season so people’s car designs are going be different each season so we already have to change the engine set up each race anyway (in competitive leagues anyway) and if we do a practice lap with each tyre we have one lap to change engine set up to see if it better and it doesn’t really help

If you take a legendary telemetry tech director, you’ll learn a lot more even with just 5 practice laps

IF……. Problem with that is you have to find or edit one, finding one is nearly impossible in the transfer market and when you do find on you get out bid by someone with more coins (paid for) editing them means paying real money for coins….. the game has become a play to win game, competing against people that have a new engine every race, able to edit drivers and staff to that the best of the best, mean while I’m constantly losing in game cash each race trying to keep up, I use to really really enjoy the game but it getting to the point I’m considering finding something else to invest my time and money in as it slowly becoming less enjoyable and even if I was willing to spend really money everything is way to expensive for a game I play once a day for a hour or so……

No it isn’t you can buy a one star TD and add the Legendary status and get all the benefits.  It doesn’t even need to be your selected TD to gain the benefit of the special ability

That's what he said, you either find one with a legendary skill on the market, but they're extremely rare and if you do find one you'll no doubt be out-bid, or you pay 200 tokens to edit one (add the legendary status). Either way it's going to cost many tokens.

The suggested solution, giving loads of practice laps, would undermine everyone who spent on a legendary telemetry TD and would alienate that part of the player base. Alienating spending players wouldn’t make sense from a business point of view

I mean, would be nice to have it all for free but studio would go bust and then you’d have no practice laps at all.

I don’t mean having it all for free but when you have people that are playing every day that are level 30 and live in races that’s are being lapped 4/5 times by people it becomes pretty much pointless for them to play the game……. I understand that the whole point of the game is the make money but for the people who can’t or won’t pay a lot of money it’s extremely difficult for them to be competitive let alone win (fyi, I’m someone who does pay from time to time and I’m only just about competitive)

If they’re live, daily race, level 30 and getting lapped (even just once) that’s not just up to spending or not. Spending money in igp can get you faster to where you want to be but there is so much more going on in the game. It is so much more then spend and you’ll win, I can’t see a bad manager spending and winning races all of a sudden.

For those managers it’s not pointless to play the game but they’re doing something wrong so I’d advise them to ask around or read up on the game, adapt and improve.

Slo is spot on here.  There are so many reasons why you might be struggling.  Car development could be poor compared to others, sub optimal push level management.  In a NRF league fuel load is crucial and looking at some of your past results you are always overfuelled at the finish (in some cases massively).  This will impact your pace significantly.  Add in potential pl errors & car development and you have many reasons for underperformance that isn’t related to  spending money.
