Has this been up before?
I think it should be prize for the first 10 teams in races and the same for the championship.
For the champoinship:
1: 30 Design points in the next season
2: 24 DP
3: 20 DP
4: 16 DP
5: 13 DP
6: 10 DP
7: 7 DP
9: 6 DP
10: 3 DP
Points after every race could be little tighter, maybe following the points given for the teams from 1-10.
The reason I suggest this if because you dont earn anything if you win a race or a champoinshp. But I guess it will hammered down, said its impossible or this is not that kind of game +++++
In leagues with two cars only the best car will bring rewards to the team. Saying 1 -2 wont bring 54 DP to the team, only 30.
Just to be clear, I wont win a race or a chaimpionship in the next 300years if I ever gonna make
I also hope it might bring more players live as it can do a lot of difference if you are away for some races

The problem with awarding design points to the top teams is that it makes them invincible.
In RL F1, in an attempt to level the playing field, it actually works the other way around. The higher you finish in the constructors championship the less wind tunnel time you get to develop the car.

I like the idea, but only if it is implemented the way Kevin suggests. One of the biggest problems is trying to keep players who have a long way to go until Level 30 to stay interested.
For that reason, I don't think rewarding anyone for doing well from one race to the next is a good idea. Perhaps instead everyone who finished outside the points could get the DP boost like you suggest? The biggest issue would be balance for implenting this change because the lower level teams have much more research percentage as a benefit to try to maintain balance.
This could accidentally make it harder for higher level players to compete, although I suppose having better drivers than the lower level players is the advantage. But then what happens in a league with many Level 30 players? It's a very difficult balancing act I believe.

I would implement the suggested idea but the other way around. The team who finished first gets less DPs, while the lowest team gets rhe maximum.
This could help worse teams fight for the Championship.
On the other hand if there are 2 strong teams and one of them knows he can’t win the championship he will try to lose all races or even rejoin the league to try and finish last and get those extra points.
So at the ene of the day I don’t know how much this could prevent strong teams to dominate.
Something that would ne 100% beneficial is awarding points to everyone who finishes the race. So people would be more motivated to fight for lower positions.

Hey,
I blame the late night and short thinking :-)
You have absolutely right. Doing the other way will probably do more good. More competitive teams makes the league closer. I believed my way would make more players live but after a re-thinking and putting my self into a situation where every one is running away from me on track I would most likely loose my motivation more and stay offline since it wasn't any point being live.

Both are no good on their own. Gaining an advantage for better positions offers an incentive to do better and fight for positions even if it's far from podium, but a good starting with winning will make wins easier next time and make it harder up to impossible for the other teams to compete.
Gaining a penalty causes the opposite and managers might even aim to finish worse, even the sponsor goals occasionaly cause this consideration for the money and here in the suggestion it's hard DPs on the table, if not in a realistic fight for the championship, to get a better shot next time. Might lead up to switching teams to play only every 2nd season.
So it'd need both an advantage and a handicap system, preferably different in nature but well balanced. However, that raises the question if it's worth the effort adding in the first place if those things are in need to sort of cancel each other out?
