Proposed Degradation Mechanics

Hello fellow managers,

Currently once a driver reaches maximum talent (level 30) in all attributes, those stats never decrease—regardless of training focus or age. This creates an unshakeable gap between top-tier veterans and smaller teams who can’t afford the best drivers. I’d like to suggest a system where attributes can decline if neglected or as drivers age, giving underdog teams a chance to compete.

---

Current Issue

- Drivers stay at peak performance indefinitely once maxed out.
- No penalty for ignoring specific skill areas (e.g., wet-weather, qualifying pace).
- Veteran drivers slowly age out, widening the gap between wealthy and cash-strapped teams.

---

Proposed Degradation Mechanics

1. Training Neglect Decay
  - Each attribute not targeted by training for X race days decreases by Y points.
  - Encourages balanced training regimens and strategic focus on key skills.

2. Age-Related Decline
  - From age 26+, introduce gradual stat drops (e.g., –1 point per attribute per season).
  - Reflects real-world physical and reaction-time limitations.

3. Active Maintenance Requirement
  - High-level drivers require a maintenance training budget to shore up their peak stats.
  - Teams must invest in specialised coaches or facilities to prevent rapid declines.

4. Temporary Boon for Small Teams
  - Smaller outfits gain a “veteran resurgence” bonus: slight acceleration of veteran decline caps to open up transfer possibilities.
  - Helps cash-limited squads pick up older talent at more competitive rates.

---

Benefits for Gameplay Balance

- Gives lower-budget teams a window to poach aging stars as their peak stats erode.
- Forces every team to strategise training priorities rather than “set and forget” superdrivers.
- Keeps veteran drivers from monopolising top results indefinitely, refreshing the transfer market.
- Adds realism by modelling the natural rise and fall of a driver’s career curve

Whenever you making mechanic that force you to gave up drivers early, you increase a gap between small and wealthy teams, because smaller teams can't afford it.
