The new update is a great step forward in terms of the racing aspects of Igp. W2w while not perfect makes the game better and more future focused and the same with the overall graphic changes throughout the game. Hopefully in the future safety cars and incidents can be added as I feel it would transform the game into a more realistic f1 game.
However the issue is very much the lack of transparency. The update was vaguely suggesting an overhaul of the league system but didn't say that you'd change it to a money focused league. I understand the need for money but the entire purpose of changing the leagues was to expand and grow the game but the issue that has come past is that leagues unwilling to pay will end up closing despite being there for years. Its isolating a community of igp.
A common response has been that it prevents fragmented and that events can run. But by allowing some leagues to pay and run personalised calendars you'll still have the fragmented problem. Surely this was a money making decision rather than truly looking at what the managers needed.
At the same time the updates do look positive but the league system isn't great and pretty unfair. The default settings of race length should've still been allowed to decided by hosts rather than igp deciding 50% 2x speed was the way to go. There's a real disconnect between the updates from igp and the players. There is a complete lack of transparency in updates which has caused so much backlash. It wasn't clear what the update would do almost as if the devs tried protecting themselves from backlash until after update released. This game is great and it's great to see that Jack is engaged with answering concerns but I feel that the updates are isolating people and without any real reward for the changes.
