The new update is a great step forward in terms of the racing aspects of Igp. W2w while not perfect makes the game better and more future focused and the same with the overall graphic changes throughout the game. Hopefully in the future safety cars and incidents can be added as I feel it would transform the game into a more realistic f1 game.

However the issue is very much the lack of transparency. The update was vaguely suggesting an overhaul of the league system but didn't say that you'd change it to a money focused league. I understand the need for money but the entire purpose of changing the leagues was to expand and grow the game but the issue that has come past is that leagues unwilling to pay will end up closing despite being there for years. Its isolating a community of igp.

A common response has been that it prevents fragmented and that events can run. But by allowing some leagues to pay and run personalised calendars you'll still have the fragmented problem. Surely this was a money making decision rather than truly looking at what the managers needed.

At the same time the updates do look positive but the league system isn't great and pretty unfair. The default settings of race length should've still been allowed to decided by hosts rather than igp deciding 50% 2x speed was the way to go. There's a real disconnect between the updates from igp and the players. There is a complete lack of transparency in updates which has caused so much backlash. It wasn't clear what the update would do almost as if the devs tried protecting themselves from backlash until after update released. This game is great and it's great to see that Jack is engaged with answering concerns but I feel that the updates are isolating people and without any real reward for the changes.

Game is awful after the update. Can't see races on mobile app. W2W is terrible. They forgot you need blue flags so now I am fighting people I am lapping. 2 wide for 3 laps straight because neither driver knows when to give up but can hang it around the outside the entire lap.

Sorry mate if I ask u this but in exactly which way w2w makes iGP a better game?just coz it adds more realism lol? iGP is not F1 Manager mate or F1 Clash or whatever, same for Safety cars and Incidents no one wants that, just ppl that wants to bring realism in a game that doesnt need to and ppl that couldnt properly understand the mechanics of the game and how great the game was b4 all these updates came into the game.

If u want that sort of stuff just change game atp,or well change game regardless since that personally to me iGP is just gone.
Have a nice day

I fully get that to be fair. But the ghosting model was pretty bad. W2w at the moment is not great. Backmarkers are an issue but in a few updates and more I'm sure they'll refine the game to fix it. I just think that ghosting past a car at any point on a track was a bit anti racing whereas now it's more tactical. At the same time some people don't like change and I respect that. I don't belive the racing has gotten worse just the league system which is pretty disgraceful by the devs

I never had an issue with ghosting cars and im a 3d player, since that the majority of the community plays in 2d they don't even notice that, they never cared about that.

Like what's the issue by overtaking a car through ghosting?is just a graphic effect nothing more in the end it's just an overtake and that's enough, well ig u say so because u want the realism and that's the thing it doesnt need to be realist, then let's remove the hards from the game and make just 3 dry compunds like irl cuz it brings more realism.

Again I understand that. But ghosting ain't overtaking is it. Its just moving straight through. I don't just think about the realism but also just overall. It's a racing game with management, ghosting is not racing but w2w is. You are right that most players might want no change and that's fine. I have no problem being wrong in this case, just stating what I think. The leagues chamges are the real issue not the w2w.

Look, I get that you’re trying to see the positives, but let’s be real — this update created more problems than it solved. The 3D stuff and W2W might look like progress, but none of it fixes the core issues of the game. They’re trying to turn a management game into a half‑baked simulation, and it just doesn’t work. If players can’t actually control anything meaningful, then 3D is nothing more than a shiny distraction.

And the league system? That’s the real disaster here. The update was advertised as an “overhaul,” not a shift toward a pay‑to‑exist model. The lack of transparency is honestly unbelievable. Leagues that have been running for years are now being pushed toward shutting down simply because they won’t pay. That’s not growth — that’s cutting off a chunk of the community.
The excuse about “preventing fragmentation” doesn’t hold water either. If some leagues can pay for custom calendars and others can’t, fragmentation still exists. This wasn’t about improving the game for managers — it was a money‑driven decision, plain and simple.

And forcing 50% races at 2x speed? That’s just tone‑deaf. Hosts should still have control over their own league settings. Instead, we get decisions that feel completely disconnected from what the players actually want.

The worst part is the communication. Updates are vague, incomplete, and feel intentionally unclear until after they drop — and then everyone is expected to just accept the fallout. That’s why the backlash is so strong. People aren’t angry because the game is changing; they’re angry because the changes are being pushed without honesty or real benefit.

The game could be great. It has the potential. And it’s good that Jack is responding. But right now, these updates are isolating long‑time players instead of rewarding them, and that’s the fastest way to shrink a community, not grow it.

I think u say so because u still didn't get how the game works, iGP is different from other management games and it's pretty unique,I can explain u in whatever way I want but u cannot understand as long as u don't understand how the game works.

About the other things that Jack bring it's quite simple:he rushed everything and there are many bugs atm,u just focused on the league system but u should look even more at the other stuff. The atrophy system for example or how terrible the new UI for strategy it looks+research being back at 10%,the chassis update that should come tomorrow but they postponed for 22 dec and prolly they will postpone again.Just a terrible management of the game. But regardless of that the game even if it was optimized perfectly it's still not enjoyable coz of w2w,just for me.Looking at ur account history u started to play during 2024 and prolly u played only in 3d,I can see why u say these things about ghosting and other stuff.

I’m going to pause this thread here and follow up with a dedicated post.

At this point, a single, clear statement is needed. There’s a lot of frustration in the community right now, and without a central place to address it properly, the discussion is starting to spiral. That helps nobody, and it makes it harder to separate genuine issues from the emotion around them.

This is a game people care about, and that’s a good thing. But we’re talking about changes to an entertainment product in order to make future development sustainable, not something that warrants the kind of language that’s starting to appear. It’s time to slow the conversation down, reset the tone, and have a more grounded discussion.

Thread closed for now. Not just this one, I'm going to group the discussion into a single thread, because it's become messy and disorganised.

I’ll be posting a full statement shortly to explain the thinking behind the changes, what’s coming next, and where feedback fits into that process. I’d like to continue the discussion there so it can actually be productive.
