I made an engine years ago as it was a gimmick but now don’t want to use it as it’s rubbish I’m only level 28 and it’s only half my maxed out even as the account was left inactive. So my suggestion; we make it so if your manufacturing engines you don’t have to use them. Not stop making them as that causes problems but be able to stop being a customer of yourself. It wouldn’t be op at all either as you have to pay to make the engines you don’t use and buy the ones you do.
You could also add new supplier things like becoming your fuel and tyre suppliers and it would work like the engine suppliers
