I'm starting to get to the point of quitting this game.
It feels like it is moving towards pay to play. In the auction I witnessed, and failed to win, in the last hour, the driver was bought for a whopping £164.1 mil and 183 tokens. My question for you Jack is how exactly are people who want to play this game at a decently competitive level supposed to compete with these people who will throw money to buy the best drivers. Yes it's always been part of the game but it feels like it has crossed a red line.

For context, in the shop, you can buy 180 tokens for £15.

I am sorry but that is RIDICULOUS

Also, why is the driver weights not trainable anymore? It means EVERYONE is fighting over the 0.1% of drivers available that are under 70kg, most of whom are female drivers.

The chances of finding a driver on the market, with a low weight, 100% talent and having a rare or legendary trait (because upgrading is f**king expensive) is next to zero

PLUS when the new system came into play I was level 27 out of 30. Almost everyone I know got bumped up to over 35 and I'm stuck on level 29.

My point is, get your house in order when it comes to the FIFA-isation of this game. Otherwise you'll be losing players

You have built up a player base that is loyal to this game and it's great to see a developer so integrated in the community. LISTEN to that community! We all want this great game to succeed but I won't pour £15 down the drain for a driver!

I sympathise with how it can feel when you encounter stuff like this. That's why I tried to take steps to stop it recently.

Last week I tried to implement account limits to stop people doing this and everyone lost their mind and asked me to revert it. Bad for trying to prevent it, then bad for not preventing it.

I do want to do what I am calling internally a "play to win" update where we strip out monetisation in areas that can impact performance directly or artificially. We'll move towards a model that is more transparent and focuses monetisation around progression and cosmetics than outright performance. One area I intend to target is making special abilities something you can train, not just purchase. Then the purchase option becomes an accelerant, rather than the only way to get that performance.

Here's a wild fact: I've put more money into iGP in 2026 than the entire community has spent combined on in-app purchases in that same period. In other words, I've put more money in than thousands of players combined in 7 months. That means I didn't make any money, btw, I've effectively subsidised a game so you can keep playing for free. That shows how committed I am to the future of iGP. We've got major updates on the way.

Hi Jack. Appreciate the quick response.

Specifically what will you do? Because this issue has came up multiple times with most without any real changes

Please see the thread in the suggestions (31 days ago in first post) by the user called Pat Patrick, he and others explain the grievances better than I can articulate.

In that thread you don't even respond to them. I get your busy, but come on

Simply put, it's still unacceptable for the players to fork out money for such a simple and crucial thing like buying staff and drivers

Imo the issues are:

The atrophy means there's a necessity to buy new drivers

The new system means I no longer compete with only people on my level, but also with those willing to buy tokens from your store.

Because of this the supply is so much lower and the amount of buyers have increased massively. Those that won't or can't afford to buy their way into the best drivers don't stand a chance.

The new auction system means there is no unpredictability, and everyone spams out tokens in the last 2 mins.

It is a shambles.

This game doesn't feel fun anymore, I shouldn't spend more time trying to buy a new driver than I do actually doing the race!

Take the FIFA comparison I made earlier, you'd be annoyed if you had to fork out £5 each time you wanted to buy new players, regardless of how much money the developer put in. Even if it was a smaller game I'd still be annoyed

The old system worked fine, you didn't have to change it. It feels like all these changes and updates are funnelling us down the road of paying for everything now. Like using the feeling of nostalgia for the 'classic mode' when you have to PAY for the boosts to even play that mode

I genuinely want you to succeed but this isn't the direction that will keep the community alive. I'm sorry Jack, I think I'm done
