Hi

i did practice stint for setup, below is the output for my one of cars:

here you can see ideal setup consume more fuel with bit higher side of timing, where as higher incorrect setup is having economical stint with better timing.

Can you suggest what can be the reason for the differences, is there any new patch for used tyre's timing.

I've noticed that there is generally one practice lap that deviates from the rest in terms of fuel consumption. But it's never by a .5 litres difference. A .2 difference at most.

I don't see an issue with the lap times here, based on the compounds used.

I noticed as well that the time difference between different setups are very small and most of the time (way) less than the ability of my drivers to pull off consistent lap times. I can only hope that the driver side gets better with them getting their relevant skills further towards 20 but for now it seems almost impossible to get anything more than general trends at best out of those 5 laps of training.

Those 0.05 litres difference is a bit much but I think still in order. That the 'better' setup uses more fuel is no error. Unlike commuting with a Prius the setup for F1 racing should be more in line of enabling generally quicker lap times. That brings up that slower lap time but with the huge span, probably due to driver inconsistency, those test laps come up with mean a single lap alone is statistically not useable. Unfortunately the best we can do is 2 laps each with the possibility of a 3rd for one of the setups, like the one with the larger difference between its lap times, or 5 each using both cars.

Yup Lap time is still acceptable, but the matter is the ideal setup is giving more consumption Fuel and higher lap time, so it concludes that ideal setup is not likely to follow, instead we can follow the setup which gives better fuel economy and lap time (+obviously Tyre degradation if its not huge generally it isn't)

"the 'better' setup uses more fuel" ok agreed, but isn't that in return provide something to be bettered, either lap time or tyre degradation.

Or is it my Drivers Knowledge,

which is giving this kind of stats, in that case the ideal setup as well will not be the ideal setup :D

Did you do run 1 & 2 the day before and then the next day you used the ideal setup or where they all done one after another?

That low driver knowledge could be a reason for a less than optimal setup and the suggested setups of my driver have differed up to 3 points. I have never seen any substantial difference in lap times between those setups though.

Would be nice to know if that ideal setup for 3 token brings up the really ideal setup, aka the quickest, or just the prefered setup by the driver again. I only used it two times, my very first race and accidentally hitting it after finding it myself, and the second time it was the same as the setup the driver told me he thinks to be perfect.

lmao I will know not to do that again, I done nothing just clicked on ideal setup

I thought i was gonna be able to use it more than once

Not far off the same you had

Your driver has more experience and I would dare say your car likely has more downforce

another example of correct and incorrect setting lap time

look at the lap time difference on the correct setup is higher by 1.5 s, yes the fuel consumption reduced by 1 percent

not again ...

it really spoils fuel planing..
as per 1st Lap fuel required is 2.18, that means
if i go for 8 laps its 8 x 2.18 = 17.44 (round up 17.5)
as per last practice lap
8 x 2.21 = 17.68 (round up 17.7)
if i take .5 ltr buffer fuel to safe-gaurd short of fuel then i need to go for 1 ltr xtra as per last lap which can land up me in heavier car, if it worked as per 1st lap (and usually it happens)
Also what i think which ever tyre we used the fuel is of that last lap is considered for the fuel required for the race stints irrespective of what tyres we are going to use for the stint.

is it related to old or new engine, yet another example where the same setup is consuming more fuel and slower than the initial setup
