I have a driver that is 5 star.. But when you get five stars they go red... Does this hurt the performance of said driver? And if not, why does the pop up say he os beyond the level of manager? Thank you all

It doesn't hurt performance of the driver. It's warning you that your driver is at or above your level and the training will slow down dramatically ( they will lose +11% health and only gain about 3% towards their next skill)

Edit: changed "train" to "training"

Plus you can't hire drivers/staff that are higher than your level. So it might be better not to let the contract to run out, but I don't know if this is true for re-hiring staff in that grace period before they hit the open market.

One inaccuracy there, Greg, a drivers star rating does not impact how much health they lose in training, the doctor's star rating affects that (that information is available in the game's help section I think).

All contracts can be renewed on employed drivers and staff regardless of their star ratings. This excludes retiring drivers or staff.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply the star rating of the driver affected how much health they lose per training cycle.
I've been elite for at almost 4 yrs now and maxed out drivers since a week after we switched to this version (I only race once a week). I wasn't sure if being in rookie or pro affected the numbers slightly in addition to being mainly affected by the rating of the doctor.

Yes, renewing always works, but I meant forgetting to renew or deliberately doing so/firing to keep the wages low.

Ah, yeah. If you have red 5-star drivers (would be impossible to have red 5-stars with staff), and your contract expires with them, approaching them is out of the question.

This is a little off the topic vecause i asked about driver with red stars.. But i have seen few peopke with staff as in CD, td, dr. That has 5 and even 5.5 stars... How is this possible? If you cant hire staff over your level and staff doesnt gain stars theu axtually lose them as you gain levl how in the **** is it even possible lol

The star ratings are reflective of drivers/staff in regards to your manager level. Thus, if you have a level 6 doctor who's 5 stars, when your manager level is 7, that doctor will likely drop down to 4 1/2 or 4 stars.

When I became level 15, my staff all went from 5 stars (when I was level 14) to 4 1/2 stars.

The star rating is the rating this staff has in comparison to your team. As level 6 you might see a CD with lvl 8 in another team as red 5 or 5.5 stars, but for that team with lvl10 he would be 4 or 4.5 stars.

The stars are only usefull for your team, to see how good staff is in another team you have to compare the levels of that team and staff and calculate/guess the star rating for them.

So if i look at your team and you have a 5 star for lvl 11 but im level 9 its gonna show red?? Makes sense i just figured whe. Looking at another team it shows that staff compared to their lvl not mine since its employed by them.. Thank you!!

So if I trained and trained my driver and now he is 5.5 red stars, how do I get him to go back to normal stars so when I train or can train him he actually makes real progress in training rather than minimal improvement when under the higher red level stars?

Since I would like to continue to train my one driver to get better but right now is at red stars and I don't want to waste time doing so. I know my other drivers dropped down at some point in time but I do not know if it is an automatic thing or if I need to do something in order to initiate the change back to normal levels.

Star rating is relative to your level.

When level up it will drop. Hopefully to below 5 red stars which will let you train more quickly.

You can still train at 5 red, but its limited to +3 per hit of the train button
