Once I tried to see how was the.best setup with the coins.
The app doesn't let me change it even if i see my car is faster else way.

That is because the setup purchased with tokens is the best setup. You shouldn't want to change it. Any setup that may be faster is only due to a variance in lap times or minor driver errors.

Ok... but in theory i should be allowed to setup anyway my favourite or not? Just asking

Once the ideal setup is bought presumably you want to have the ideal setup, or you wouldn't have spent 3 Tokens on it?

I don't see why you would want to use a less than ideal setup, seems like a waste of tokens also.

There might be one possible situation when I would want to override the ideal setup. I suppose the system sets the ideal setup due to the conditions at race lock time. But if I'm pretty certain, or want to gamble on it, that the weather is changing (before) mid-race I'd might want to set a setup I see ideal for that weather change.

I don't see it as a problem I can't, though. Setup differences doesn't seem to be that powerfull anyway. We had a race lately where one team with similar speed than mine set up for rain and I did for dry and rain would have been the right choice. In the actual race I didn't notice. It was things like not ideal tactical decisions, missed ones due to distraction and not being online of usually much stronger teams that did noticeably influence the race.

Rain/Dry is the perfect situation why i would prefer to be able to setup as I like.
Anyway also that fact about "may be faster is only due to a variance in lap times or minor driver errors" does not convince me.

I spent tokens once just to see what was the answers and how different it was from the Pilot suggestion (as they were young and poor in knowledge).
I would not spend token on it anymore cause I saw more then once that slighty differnt setup can drive you on fastest laps (even different from ideal setup)

I did this on purpose sometimes
Ideal setup by pilot 1
set as first training lap on pilot 2
pilot 2 says is perfect
i move wings value --> lap 2 is fastest,
reset ideal setup lap is slower again
reset to the one i prefer --> fastest again

Is this really a case of pilot mistakes? Not convinced

Just let a driver do 5 laps on the very same setup and tyre and you'll see that those lap times are quite different, way more so than the differences for slightly altered setups. So yes, it's quite likely that it's just a case of pilot mistakes and the given setup is the best. But I have to take the devs word for it as well because I can't prove it exactly because of those quite big differences in lap times. It would need far more laps than it's possible to do at any given track and condition.
