I am very confused! There are around 6 active managers in my league and in practice I always find the perfect set up yet usually finish around 5th team wise. But then when it comes to quali and the race we're the often the fastest or second fastest team? any ideas?

So you are concerned about your practice times when finding the ideal setup. There is a lot of variance in the practice lap times.
Are you able to manage the race while it is running? Are your opponents able to manage their teams during the race? Are you managing the tires/push level? Too hot or too cold slows a car down
