So Malaysia 27/28 lap and I'm crusing along 11.3 seconds in the lead when it indicatea that I'm coming in for a pitstop. I don't understand because of the following;
Practice 3.65ltr on Med 9 laps x 3.65ltr = 32.85ltr and I filled it to 34ltrs. I was on Low Push. The indicator upon setup said 27/28 laps but from the fuel calculation it meant that I would just make it. What did I do wrong?

Because the fuel from stint one doent carry over to stint 2.. The number you put in is what it will be filled to and not the amount added.. Hope this helps :)

If you were at the start of lap 27, you had 2 full laps to go. But reviewing your race data shows something else...
9*3= 27 and you had a 28 lap race. You needed a 10 lap stint in there somewhere.

The last pitstop i could have sworn I had it set ro 37ltrs. Perhaps I accidently changed it when I went through the settings just before the deadline. My bad! I'll look out for this in the future.
Can you tell me what the red power bar is on the left showing as full and 100%? As the other cars it was heavily depleted but both my cars were ahowing 100% & 96%
Also what does the tyres, fuel use and health loss mean in grey on the right hand side? It shows my fuel was -4.0 and health -1.3 and tyres -4.4

The red power bar indicates how much energy you have left for your KERS system. KERS gives a speed boost, to help overtaking for example. To use it click/tap into the red KERS bar or (with chat closed) hit S (car 1) of K (car 2) on devices with a keyboard. KERS becomes active at the 3rd lap.
Those numbers indicate how much fuel and tyres your car used and fitness your driver lost during the last lap.
Greg Broz medal 5000 7 years 163 days ago
Also note the iGP KERS (or boost) is a single charge. Unlike F1, you cannot charge it back up as you race.

Okay cheers guys but to clarify how would you read fuel -3.6 what does this actually mean? And whilst we're at it, what does tyres -4.5 mean?
Alsi does the KERS affect your fuel consumption?
Greg Broz medal 5000 7 years 163 days ago
It's telling you that the car used 3.6 L of fuel on the last lap. It will change based on your driver's push level, so it helps you fine tune your fuel calculation as the race goes on.
The -4.5 for the tires is telling you you lost about 4.5% of the tire tread on the last lap.
As for KERS affecting fuel consumption, I say not really, but I do remember Jack stating that it does have a small impact.

Thanks Greg and also thank you to all of you that helped here.

I wanna just run this by you next race is again 28 laps with my fuel calculation it works out 32.75ltrs for 9 laps so when i fill it for 33ltrs the fuel predictor is saying 8.9 laps. If I do this to start the race for 9 laps 33ltrs then pit one 33ltrs for 9 laps then 37ltrs for 10 laps the fuel predictor is saying 26/28 laps with a red warning. Surely this is wrong as it's forcing me to fill 34ltrs (9.1 laps) for the start and 1st pit but my calculation says 32.75ltrs is sufficiently enough for 9 laps.
Greg Broz medal 5000 7 years 163 days ago
It's not forcing you to do anything. It's just a warning. If you are truly confident in your numbers, then go for it. However, if you have your drivers go all out for any length of time, that 0.25 L will disappear quickly.
Try the 33 for first stint, but be ready to jump the second stint up in case you have to pit early
Ali El-morssy medal 5000 7 years 163 days ago
I'm almoat sure this is exactly what happ3ned in the previous race. I'll leave it 34ltrs and see what happens. But to clarify if that red icon flashes up saying 27/28 or 26/28 then it does not necessarily mean that their fuel predictor is correct?
Ali El-morssy medal 5000 7 years 163 days ago
Just ran the race both cars push low and on the car that had the 2nd pitstop of 37ltrs(10 laps) he finished with 1.0ltrs left, I had used Push above neutral for some of the time on the last lap (he won the race by 0.5) and the other car did the 1st pit with 33ltrs but I forgot how much was left so the 2nd pitstop I used 34ltrs (9 laps) and he finished with 1.7ltrs left as I never changed his push level, keeping it on low.
My next question is how much of an impact does carrying an extra 1ltr have in seconds for say a 9 lap duration?
Greg Broz medal 5000 7 years 162 days ago
The red icon and 27/28 or 26/28 is telling you that based on your last practice run and the amount of fuel you have selected, that you will likely not have enough fuel to go the full distance. Now your numbers and warning may be influenced by the fact your technical director is a lower level.
As I said, if you are confident in your numbers, and won't be pushing too hard, you can try to cut it close. However, any extended high level of push by the driver could use up that tiny amount of "extra" fuel you have.
As for your last question, that is something only you can figure out. I will say it helps to have nearly identical drivers on a track they have both run at before and experiment for yourself. But you also have DRS, KERS, and the weather as huge variables.
Why a track you have run at before? You never know when your #2 driver may prefer a certain track or type of track and be better than your #1.

I'm new to tje game juat started a new season so only had 3 races so far. I hired a 4.5* TD but I guess that is nothing to do with the TD's level?
